Acer India has reached a significant milestone in its retail expansion journey, with its exclusive store network now growing to 300 stores across more than 180 cities nationwide. The achievement marks a major step in the company's efforts to deepen its offline presence and bring its technology products and customer experience closer to consumers across India.
The growing network highlights the importance of offline retail in Acer's broader market strategy. While digital channels have transformed the way consumers discover and purchase technology products, physical stores continue to offer customers an opportunity to experience devices firsthand, explore different product categories and receive personalized assistance before making a purchase.
With its presence now extending across more than 180 cities, Acer is building stronger customer touchpoints across markets and taking its products closer to consumers beyond the country's major metropolitan centres. The expanding footprint also reflects the growing role of regional markets in India's technology consumption story.
More importantly, the milestone comes at a time when Acer is demonstrating strong momentum across the Indian PC market. According to the IDC India Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker for Q1 2026, Acer secured the No. 2 position in India's overall PC shipments market with a 21.3% market share.
Building a Stronger and Sustainable Retail Ecosystem
Beyond the scale of the expansion, the 300-store milestone also underlines the strength of Acer's partner-led retail ecosystem. A wide and sustainable network requires close collaboration with retail partners, making their contribution integral to the company's continued growth across regions.
Sanjeev Mehtani, Chief Sales Officer, Acer India, has played a pivotal role in steering the company’s retail growth strategy and driving the execution of its expansion roadmap. The achievement of 300 exclusive stores within the targeted timeline reflects the strength of his vision, leadership, and execution. He has also been instrumental in strengthening Acer’s market presence and sustaining its growth momentum across India. Celebrating the achievement and congratulating the team, Sanjeev Mehtani commented on a LinkedIn post, “Congratulations to you and all the team members. Most important fact is that these are all Profitable and Self sustained stores.”
Strong PC Market Position
Acer's growing retail presence is being supported by strong performance in the broader Indian PC market. Its 21.3% market share and No. 2 ranking in overall PC shipments in Q1 2026 indicate the scale of demand and brand acceptance that Acer has built in the country.
The company's strength becomes even more visible when individual segments are considered. In the education segment, Acer ranked No. 1 in Desktop, Notebook & Workstations with a 62.1% market share. It also dominated the education notebook segment with a 63.7% market share, demonstrating its strong position in large-scale institutional and education deployments.
The government segment is another major area of strength. Acer ranked No. 1 in Government Desktop, Notebook & Workstations with a 37.1% market share and secured the top position in government desktops with a 40.85% market share. In government notebooks, the company ranked No. 2 with a 33.63% market share. Acer also held a 56.99% share of the education desktop segment, reinforcing its position in institutional computing.
These numbers show that Acer's India business has developed beyond traditional consumer PC sales. Its growing presence across education, government, commercial and consumer segments gives the company a broader base from which to build its retail and partner ecosystem.
Amit Kumar Singh, Associate Director – Retail Business and Programs, Acer India, has been a key driving force behind Acer India’s retail expansion, playing a major role in scaling the company’s exclusive store network across the country. His leadership in retail programs, partner development, and network expansion has been instrumental in taking Acer to the 300-store milestone. Sharing his appreciation for the partners who contributed to this journey, Amit Kumar Singh posted on LinkedIn, “300 Exclusive Stores | 180+ Cities | Pan India. A big thank you to all our partners for making this milestone possible. Together, we continue to expand and bring Acer closer to customers across India.”
From Product Strength to Customer Reach
Acer's exclusive stores are an important part of converting this market strength into greater customer accessibility. The stores give consumers a physical environment to experience Acer's products, understand different configurations and receive assistance before purchasing.
This is particularly relevant in categories such as gaming laptops, performance notebooks and AI-enabled PCs, where customers often want to see and experience a product before making a purchase.
Acer's portfolio has also expanded alongside changing customer requirements. The company continues to address mainstream computing as well as gaming, professional and AI-focused use cases, giving its retail partners multiple categories through which they can engage different customer groups.
The expansion across 180+ cities is therefore important not only for Acer's visibility but also for its ability to take these newer computing experiences into markets beyond the largest metros.
