The new technology innovations in GPU domain further uplifting the market and creating new growth avenues. Commenting about the graphics card market, Ashish M Khokale, Marketing Manager India (CND&GNP Dept), India, MSI said, “There is now, an increase in online gaming and Content creation. This has been made possible with the ever increase in affordability of the internet in different part of the country, thus leading to more consumption of online content. The current mindset is that a GPU is an integral part of a Gaming or Content creation computer. The Graphics Card market demand is fuelled by the ever growing need for hardware capable handling complex mathematical calculations related to 2D and 3D graphics required for Gaming, Content Creation, AI and Machine Learning.”

Soaring Demand

It is very exciting how the demand for graphics card has gone up in recent years. There are various factors that have contributed to this increased demand such as gaming, 4K rich content, power demanding applications and etc. Briefing about the ever increasing demand, he said, “The gaming and content creation industry has fuelled the graphics card market in India. The extensive demand in these sectors continue to push the momentum for brands. The covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact in the demand for Graphics cards. With the WFH (Work from home) and Study from home concept, a bit of mining and the increased computing expertise needed to fight the covid-19 pandemic, the demand for GPUs has been rising. The WFH scenario has led to the demand for having an in-house PC for their gaming and work needs, more and more users have been building their own PCs. Additionally, we see more and more content creators opting for more powerful PCs to handle their streaming and content creation needs.  Along with this we also see more demand for hardware capable of handling Machine learning and AI. These have been the major contributing factors for the increase in GPU demand.”

Pricing Challenges

“The prices have already started to come down and we can see more and more stock availability for gamers and DIY pc builders who has always been our priority. Along with Nvidia we are running a campaign called "Restocked and Reloaded" to help reach out to more end users,” he revealed.

We have dedicated personnel who are easily accessible in the Gaming community and are there to assist end user. We have our own repair centre in India with dedicated collection points across India to reach as many users as possible. We also provide on-site warranty for some of our products in some regions of India,” he concluded.
