“At Epson, We Will Continue To Promote Our Highly Successful EcoTank Printers”

Innovation in Inkjet Printing technology has helped this market to grow immensely in last few years. InkTank printers have been adopted by large customer base due to its innovations and affordability as well. Commenting on the trends in printer market, Siva Kumar, Senior General Manager, Inkjet Printers, Epson India said, “The year 2022 is looking promising for InkTank Printer from both Home and Office segments. As the work from home (WFH) and learn from home (LFH) is expected to continue, an increase in awareness about the benefits of InkTank printers over Ink Cartridge printers can further increase a demand in the home segment. We have witnessed a shift from Laser printers to InkTank printers among corporates and SoHo due to the focus on sustainability and ESG [Environmental, social, and governance] goals. We are expecting more office users would switch to Inkjet technology which is Eco-nomical and Eco-friendly.”

He further added, “At Epson, we offer a wide range of products from Color and Monochrome desktop printers to Big office printing up to 100 ppm printers. We will continue to promote our highly successful EcoTank printers with the key benefits of low print lost, high page yield, low power consumption and environmentally friendly printing. These printers are equipped with revolutionary Heat-Free Technology, which boasts lower power consumption than legacy printers such as ink cartridge printers, laser printers, and thermal inkjet technology printers.”

Major Strategies to Drive Growth

The market landscape has changed a lot in last few years due to existing pandemic. Leading brand like Epson has already chalked out their channel and product plans for year 2022. Briefing about the plans to boost growth, Siva Kumar said, “At Epson, we will continue to promote our highly successful EcoTank printers on the premise of Low-Cost printing, high page yield and Environmentally friendly printing. This year our main focus would be to reach out to IT channel who would be catering the home segment requirements and we will support the growth on online platform sales. More focus would be in Tier II and Tier III Cities as we see potential in these markets due to Learn from Home scenario.”

“Epson printers with the Heat Free Printing technology delivers cost-effective solution that lower carbon foot print, Less e waste and Low power consumption. We will promote this aggressively to the corporates as it is the best solution to help them achieve their sustainability and ESG goals. We focus on High volume printing with our Business Inkjet which offers a value preposition to the users with High print volume, low power consumption and Economical prints with less environmental impact compare to laser printers. We expect a growth in Managed Print Service (MPS) among corporates. We also continue with the our digital effort to reach out the these segments. Once the Covid-19 pandemic ends, we would go back to Pre-Pandemic activities like with face-to-face meetings with end customers, Live Demos,” he added.
