ASUS Believes WFH Has Turned Out to Be A Blessing in Disguise For The IT Business

The Work from home model has helped the employees to work with flexibility even though the transition to this new normal was not very easy. The companies are adapting to the new way of working and it might last longer than the expected period. “Working from home in the current situation has turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the IT business and the growth has been healthy.  It has changed our conventional method of working and newer products have picked up very good momentum.  I’m hoping the business wave continues the way it is but such a surge, realistically, will slowdown going ahead.  Many businesses have already moved their current working models to a WFH model till 2021. I wouldn’t call it a ‘trend’ but a big shift in the system that everyone is now adapting to,” commented by Vinay Shetty, Regional Director, Components Business – India and South Asia, ASUS.

Product Trends

Commenting on product trends due to WFH adoption, Vinay Shetty commented, “WFH actually to a large extent has converted over 80% households, big or small, into small office spaces.  Understandably, the requirement for products like routers, large screen monitors, small form factor PCs (SFF), Keyboards and Mice have gone up drastically.  Individuals working/studying from home really have had to ensure that their work/academics don’t get hampered. Taking the simple example a router, Consumers have now realised, that anything below 750 Mbps routers will not fulfill the needs of everyone. With multiple users connected to a single device and stretched bandwidth which could include School/College video calls and office goers and members working from home. This has triggered a good change in the segment of WLL business.”

Plans for Boosting Business Growth

Vinay Shetty commented, “Firstly, I would like to thank all my partners who have stood up and delivered as true loyal partners for Asus in such adverse and risky working conditions. Their health and well-being is of prime importance to us. Their contribution should not be seen merely as a business contribution but as a human being who refused to let the situation pull him down. We are constantly in touch with our partners to ensure their product information, marketing updates, product availability status are all tracked meticulously. We have regular product days to ensure they know and understand the new range of products. We have an Asus Product training for our System integrator partners so that there is no gap in the product feature understanding and we ensure proper marketing engines are active for the end user to know what products are being offered from Asus on a regular basis.  We want to ensure that in the coming quarter, which predominantly has always been a promising one in India, will continue to be fruitful and profitable for our partners.”
