Rajeev: How do you see the launch of new Make-in-India AI server portfolio by Altos?

Sudhir: It is a very important announcement for us. We firmly believe in the AI growth story and in the setting up of India data centers in India. Because of the policies around sovereign data protection, it is important that most of the data which is generated in India remains in India and is processed in India.

This is important for defense, important for healthcare, important for banking transactions, and important for the security of the country. The government is working towards this in a very big way. So, this launch is a step towards that vision. We want to participate in the India AI hub story, and we are sure that as we get into many more data centers, our products will provide the right kind of solutions at the right value and with the right reliability.

Rajeev: How does local manufacturing strengthen this strategy, and what role does Make-in-India play for Altos?

Sudhir: Make-in-India is a part and parcel of the Acer Group philosophy. We want to make sure that most of these products are manufactured in India. This helps us not only configure products as per customer requirements, but also create an effective supply chain. At the same time, it allows us to participate in the government’s Make-in-India initiative in a meaningful way. Manufacturing is something we will keep adding. That remains part of our core philosophy. As demand grows, we will continue to strengthen local production capabilities.

Rajeev: How closely are you working with PSUs and enterprises to make sovereign data infrastructure a reality?

Sudhir: These developments are primarily driven by government policies, and the government is very serious about this direction. We participate with various PSUs to provide them the required hardware and software solutions.

We talk about Altos servers, we talk about AI networks, and the objective is to ensure that they are able to do optimum utilization of any server that they install in their facilities. Therefore, they are able to get an optimized solution set for their needs. Whether it is public sector organizations or enterprises, the focus is to deliver infrastructure that is efficient, scalable, and aligned with India’s sovereign data requirements.

Rajeev: How do you see the AI moment becoming a game changer for the Altos brand in India?

Sudhir: Altos as a brand has been in existence for two decades. More than 70% of the total branch automation which was done in PSU banks was on Altos servers. So, we already have reliable solutions and a strong installed infrastructure base.

AI data centers require a different kind of skill set. We are partnering with various sets of partners across software, security, and networking. We are also enabling and educating our system integration partners to design data centers as per the sovereign requirements of a particular customer.

Our objective is to provide the necessary tools, the necessary hardware, and the software so that partners are able to generate confidence in customers. That is where the AI opportunity becomes a game changer.

Rajeev: Which products are your key highlights in the new launch, and what is your five-year vision for the brand?

Sudhir: We have showcased key products such as Altos BrainSphere R680 and Altos BrainSphere R370. These are among the latest technology products, especially meeting the new GPU requirements that are coming up in the data sector.

Going forward, where growth is concerned, we would like to be among the top three brands in the country as far as the server platform business is concerned. We believe we are already on the right path. Our five-year vision is clear: continue expanding manufacturing, continue strengthening our portfolio, and continue building our leadership position in India’s enterprise and AI server ecosystem.

Rajeev: Partners have always been a major strength for Acer and Altos. What would be your message to them?

Sudhir: My message for the partners is that we are there for you. On the PC and client side, we have already enabled different kinds of solutions, and now on the server side this is a new opportunity. They have to scale up, they have to build the capabilities to design these data centers, and we will be there for them to train them and support them. We will handhold them so that they can provide these kinds of solutions confidently in the market. We see our partners as family, and their growth is equally important to us as we expand this business together.
