High-end laptops designed with the latest technology meet the demanding requirements of gamers, content creators, business professionals, and elite users. Recently, MSI celebrated 20 years in the computer business, marking two decades of innovation and excellence. At the recent Computex event, MSI made several significant announcements and product launches. In a special visit to Digital Terminal office, where Rajeev Ranjan, Editor of Digital Terminal, had the pleasure of hosting Green Lin, Regional Marketing Manager - MEA and Pan India, MSI, and Bruce Lin, Regional Marketing Manager, MSI, for an exclusive conversation and product demo. This unique interaction provided deeper insights into MSI's latest offerings, service management, and partner ecosystem. Here are the excerpts from that insightful discussion:

Rajeev: Can you share insights into MSI's 20-year journey in the laptop business?

Green: We are honored to celebrate MSI’s 20th anniversary. We started by producing high-end gaming laptops and later expanded to cater to content creators, business professionals, and elite users. Initially, the market for gaming laptops was non-existent, and no one believed that a laptop could be high-performing. So, we recruited experts from the gaming field along with our sales and marketing team. We paid close attention to professional gamers' feedback and launched SteelSeries keyboards with popular gaming features. In 2010, one of our product managers participated in the CES CS tournament, inviting the world’s top CS team, The Fanatic, to exchange ideas, leading to a long-term collaboration.

Rajeev: Can you tell us about the recent Computex event?

Bruce: At Computex, we launched the AI Plus laptop, which combines the latest Intel and AMD AI 300 series processors. These laptops offer extreme performance, and we have equally focused on the software. We are investing in AI software, including our optimizable AI engine that detects software based on user behavior. Additionally, MSI AI Artist, our AI software, features text-image capabilities and is available offline to protect users' creative ideas. We also introduced AI Noise Translation, which detects both ambient noise and human voices.

Rajeev: What initiatives can we expect from MSI in the next quarter to gain traction in India?

Green: We aim to reach a wider audience through online and offline events. Last year, we organized over 60 workshops and 100 offline events, inviting industry professionals from gamers to creators to engage with our users. We look forward to more creations using Mi AI as we release the 5th MSI Creator Awards 2024, including a new category for AI-generated works alongside traditional graphic design, animation, and film.

Rajeev: Could you elaborate on your collaboration with Mercedes and AMG?

Bruce: This is the second year of our collaboration with AMG. Our partnership with Mercedes AMG extends beyond products to industrial collaboration. Their engineers and cameras rely on MSI laptops, showcasing our impressive capabilities. We consistently produce premium laptops with the latest magnesium-aluminum chassis, ensuring durability and modern design. Last year, we introduced a new 16-inch version in collaboration with Mercedes AMG, and we are now working on an 18-inch version, which is still super light. We will announce the launch of these products soon.

Rajeev: What can Indian customers expect from the Computex announcements? What products are in the pipeline for the Indian market?

Green: For Indian customers, we are launching MSI Claw, allowing users to carry all their gaming libraries and continue games left at home. We are also launching a series of AI-generated laptops in collaboration with Intel and AMD.

Rajeev: Can you share details about your recent collaboration with Synology?

Bruce: Our collaboration with Synology focuses on providing seamless data solutions for content creators. We also work with ecosystem partners like Google Developer Club and Unity, one of the biggest VR content gaming engines.

Rajeev: How are you enhancing your service centers in India with your growing customer base?

Steve: We currently have 30 experience centers in major cities and are expanding to tier 2 cities. This year, we are building 50 more experience centers and launching 200 additional service centers for our users. MSI is also offering outside services, making laptop service more accessible.
