“ViewSonic IT Business is Eyeing on to Hit $12M Business in India Through IT Business”

The growth of monitor market in India has been phenomenal. Customers across segments are buying high-end PCs to meet out their requirements for gaming, content creation, study or professional work. ViewSonic is one of the leading brands in the monitor segment currently. Its wide range monitor offerings have performed quite well in the Indian market. Going forward, ViewSonic eyes big growth in the coming months. Sanjoy Bhattacharya, Director Sales & Marketing, IT Business, ViewSonic India shared his views with DT about growth, targets, channel plans and much more.

DT: Please share the Overall Performance in the Year 2022.

Sanjoy: It has been an interesting year for the brand ViewSonic and its monitor segment. 2022 started with the sharp fall in panel price resulting in a slow start to the year. Furthermore, for certain cases the cost was reduced to 40% to 50%. However, keeping up with the constant demand among the users we were able to manage a growth of around 30% YoY on sell out  (Revenue basis) while our Unit growth is more than 50% YoY. The brand was able to maintain the ASP of 2021.
Additionally, we have also expanded  our footprints to 200 SI/VARs and expanded reach to 72 + active General Trade Channel partners (T2) & 900+ T3 partners in the top 8 cities in India.

DT: Please share the target revenue or growth percentage to achieve by the end of 2022-23.

DT: What features/vision make your brand better than others?

Sanjoy: ViewSonic has been a global provider of visual solutions for the last 35 years, offering premium-quality products across the globe. It has been poised to create values in the system and strengthens its position in the display market with quick and effective customer services and international warranty of 5 years on all products. With proper sync of technology, infrastructure and values, the display brand has created an online platform bringing employee, partner, customer at one faceless digital platform to enhance the value of employee, respect for business partners & connect closely with the customers.  Indian market is one of their major focuses, therefore, it will soon be establishing Make in India production facility for monitors.

DT: How do you take care of channel margins & profitability?

Sanjoy: Margin is a function up cost, Price, Demand & supply. In these competitive times, ViewSonic follow a key mantra of focusing on the return of investment (ROI). Keeping a perfect balance of less investment and speedy quick rotation plays a vital role in the channel and profit management.

DT: Please share a few sales tips for the channel community.

Sanjoy: LCD monitor trade is one of the highly specialized segments in the monitor sector. Being in a highly competitive industry, domain knowledge and in-depth understanding of the market is extremely important to make a place in this space. Additionally, being updated with the latest technology, trends and industry will be extremely helpful for growth in the industry.
