“The Networking And Surveillance Industry In India Is Brimming With Emerging Opportunities”
TP-Link India, a leading name in networking and surveillance solutions, continues to build on its innovation-driven legacy in the Indian market. In this exclusive interview, Mr. Bijoy Alaylo, Director & COO of TP-Link India, discusses the company’s strong performance in 2024 and outlines its key priorities for 2025. With a focus on Wi-Fi 7, smart home innovation, and expanding its channel partner ecosystem, TP-Link is poised for another year of growth and technology leadership.
Rajeev: How did your business perform in CY 2024? What were the key factors that contributed to this success?
Bijoy: TP-Link India delivered robust growth in 2024, further reinforcing its leadership in the networking and surveillance space. Our success stemmed from expanding our footprint into tier-2 and tier-3 cities, which allowed us to improve digital infrastructure accessibility. On the product side, we introduced a host of innovations including Wi-Fi 7 routers, upgraded VIGI surveillance solutions, and a broader range of smart IoT products under the Tapo brand.
Rajeev: What are your key business objectives for 2025? How do you plan to achieve them?
Bijoy: Our primary goal for 2025 is to strengthen our position in the Indian networking landscape through strategic innovation and partner alignment. We will continue expanding our Wi-Fi 7 product lineup to ensure faster adoption in both residential and commercial settings. On the smart home front, we’re enhancing our Tapo range with AI-driven security cameras, smart sensors, and automation solutions to cater to the growing connected living market. For enterprises and SMBs, we aim to scale up our Omada SDN offerings and expand our VIGI surveillance solutions. We are also committed to boosting our local manufacturing under the ‘Make in India’ initiative to meet demand more efficiently. These goals will be achieved through strategic alliances, investments in R&D, and engaging digital marketing campaigns designed around customer needs.
Rajeev: What new opportunities do you foresee emerging in your industry?
Bijoy: The networking and surveillance industry in India is brimming with emerging opportunities. There is a clear surge in smart home adoption, driven by rising demand for AI-powered surveillance, home automation, and cloud-managed security. India’s transition toward Wi-Fi 7 and the 6GHz spectrum opens up avenues for new-generation routers and mesh solutions, where TP-Link is already well-positioned. In enterprise networking, cloud-based management systems like Omada SDN are gaining traction, offering scalable, cost-effective connectivity solutions for businesses. Additionally, with the growing penetration of FTTH (fiber to the home), we anticipate a strong rise in demand for high-speed fiber routers and GPON solutions. These shifts create an ideal landscape for TP-Link to lead innovation and fulfill evolving market needs.
Rajeev: What is your current channel strength, and how do you plan to enhance your channel ecosystem in 2025?
Bijoy: TP-Link India currently boasts a strong channel ecosystem comprising a wide network of distributors and resellers operating across both offline and online markets. In 2025, we plan to deepen our channel engagement through more frequent partner programs, enhanced training initiatives, and attractive incentive schemes that promote mutual growth. We are also focusing on strengthening after-sales and technical support infrastructure to ensure greater satisfaction among end customers. On the digital front, our aim is to grow e-commerce and direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales by expanding our presence on major online marketplaces and enhancing our official TP-Link store.
Rajeev: What new product categories or services are you planning to introduce in 2025?
Bijoy: In 2025, we are excited to introduce a variety of new product categories. Our Wi-Fi 7 portfolio will expand significantly with new routers, Deco mesh systems, and enterprise-grade solutions to meet high-speed connectivity demands. In surveillance, we are preparing to launch AI-powered VIGI security cameras with smart analytics capabilities. For the smart home segment, we are enhancing our Tapo lineup with advanced sensors, smart switches, and automation systems. On the enterprise side, we will continue building out the Omada SDN platform, adding new features that make it even more efficient and scalable for modern business networks.
