After a breakthrough year in 2024, Sophos is doubling down on innovation, integration, and intelligence. As businesses in India seek outcome-driven cybersecurity and round-the-clock threat response, the company’s MDR solutions have gained significant traction. In this exclusive interview, Rajeev Gupta, Director of Channel Sales, India & SAARC, Sophos, discusses how strong partner engagement, localized support, and strategic acquisitions like Secureworks are setting the stage for a bold 2025.

Rajeev: How did your business perform in CY 2024? What were the key factors that contributed to this success?

Rajeev Gupta: 2024 was a momentous year for Sophos, both globally and in India. The demand for our managed security services grew significantly. Sophos Managed Detection and Response (MDR) saw strong traction, now protecting more than 28,000 organisations worldwide. We have been a long-standing trusted cybersecurity partner in India and continue to innovate new solutions to help enterprises defend their businesses from increasingly sophisticated cyber-attacks.

Rajeev: What are your key business objectives for 2025? How do you plan to achieve them?

Rajeev Gupta: The primary focus in the India region will be to acquiring net new logos to drive further growth in the region as well as cross-selling, upselling, and MDR. The recent acquisition Secureworks enhances our detection and investigation capabilities, which will be integrated into our global cybersecurity platform. In India, we’ll continue to localise support, deliver targeted education through Sophos Academy, and build capabilities that help customers reduce risk while managing operational complexity.

Rajeev: What new opportunities do you foresee emerging in your industry?

Rajeev Gupta: The evolving regulatory environment in India is creating opportunities for compliance-focused solutions, cyber insurance advisory and ransomware recovery plans. These shifts are reinforcing the importance of solutions that are both intelligent, adaptable, and swift to action.

As cloud adoption accelerates and hybrid work becomes the norm, the need for integrated, cross-environment security is growing rapidly in India. We see major opportunities in the expansion of XDR and firewall across hybrid infrastructures, the continued growth of cybersecurity-as-a-service in mid-market organisations, and the increasing demand for AI-driven automation to reduce alert fatigue.

Rajeev: What is your current channel strength, and how do you plan to enhance your channel ecosystem in 2025?

Rajeev Gupta: Our channel ecosystem in India is well-established, consisting of distributors, systems integrators, Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), and Managed Service Providers (MSPs). Each plays a distinct role in delivering value to customers across sectors. In 2024, we introduced our Partner Care program to reduce friction in backend operations and improve responsiveness.

Going forward, our focus is on expanding partner enablement, increasing access to threat intelligence, and strengthening regional partner networks through certifications, field support, and joint marketing efforts.

Rajeev: What new product categories or services are you planning to introduce in 2025?

Rajeev Gupta: One of the most significant developments for us in 2025 is the acquisition of Secureworks and the integration of its Taegis platform into Sophos Central. This brings enhanced telemetry, threat detection, and investigation capabilities to our customers.

We’re also continuing to build automation features across Sophos Central and expanding our proactive vulnerability management services. These enhancements align with what organisations now expect—faster decision-making, reduced noise, and greater control over their cybersecurity posture. We are also working towards enhancing our AI cybersecurity capabilities to improve real-time threat detection which would allow enterprises to cut down on response time and subsequent downtime.
