In an era where digital threats are becoming more complex and persistent, cybersecurity is not just a necessity—it's a strategic imperative. ESET has been at the forefront of building secure digital environments through continuous innovation and trusted expertise. To explore ESET’s vision, evolving solutions, and commitment to the Indian market, Rajeev Ranjan, Editor at Digital Terminal, spoke exclusively with Parvinder Walia, President – Asia Pacific, ESET. Here’s an insightful conversation on the company’s regional priorities, product advancements, and strong channel-centric approach.

Rajeev: How do you define ESET’s vision and its core strengths that differentiate it in today’s competitive landscape?

Parvinder: At ESET, our vision is to create a safer digital world for businesses, governments, and individuals alike. What distinguishes us is our ability to integrate cutting-edge AI-powered technology with profound human expertise to deliver security that is both effective and resource-efficient.

As a privately held, research and development-driven company, we prioritize long-term innovation and customer trust. Our global and India specific telemetry, coupled with our local presence in the Asia-Pacific region for over two decades, provides us with a unique vantage point to detect threats early and respond promptly.

Rajeev: How important is the Indian market in ESET’s overall APJ strategy? What kind of growth or demand are you seeing in India currently?

Parvinder: India is one of the strategic markets within the APAC region for ESET, driven by its vast potential and our continued investment in both business operations and human resources. With the country’s rapid digitisation, rise in need for cybersecurity, and increasing cloud adoption, the demand for robust and reliable cybersecurity solutions has never been greater. We’ve seen double-digit growth in India over the past year, particularly in the SMB and enterprise segments, and we’re continuing to invest in expanding our presence through local partnerships, awareness campaigns, and channel enablement initiatives. India’s vibrant tech ecosystem and policy momentum around cybersecurity make it a very exciting market for us.

Rajeev: What are some of the latest or most relevant solutions ESET is offering to address today’s evolving cyber threat landscape?

Parvinder: ESET has unveiled advanced capabilities within its flagship cloud-based security management console, the ESET PROTECT Platform, solidifying its dedication to proactive and adaptive cybersecurity for businesses of all sizes.

One of the most significant enhancements is the Ransomware Remediation feature. This sophisticated capability enables organizations to swiftly and automatically restore critical files following a ransomware attack. Extending beyond conventional detection and prevention, it empowers businesses to recover promptly, minimize operational downtime, and mitigate financial repercussions—ensuring continuity even in the face of sophisticated threats.

Simultaneously, ESET Cloud Office Security now provides enhanced protection for Microsoft 365 environments through advanced anti-spoofing and homoglyph detection. These improvements are designed to enhance the detection and blocking of phishing attempts that utilize deceptive domain names and identity impersonation, a growing concern in the contemporary threat landscape.

Furthermore, the introduction of the ESET AI Advisor, a generative AI cybersecurity assistant, represents a significant advancement in threat investigation efficiency. By harnessing AI-driven insights, security teams can now conduct faster and more accurate threat analysis, enabling organizations to respond to incidents with greater speed and confidence.

Collectively, these innovations significantly enhance ESET’s capacity to deliver resilient and future-ready protection against the evolving cyber risks of today.

Rajeev: How does ESET approach enterprise-grade cybersecurity versus consumer or SMB-focused solutions?

Parvinder: While our core technology foundation is consistent, our approach is tailored to the unique needs of each segment. For enterprises, we offer advanced solutions like ESET Inspect for deep XDR visibility and threat intelligence feeds that integrate with existing SIEM or SOAR tools. For SMBs, we focus on easy-to-deploy, set-and-forget security with strong defaults and cloud-based management via the ESET PROTECT platform. And on the consumer front, our award-winning endpoint protection is bolstered with features like identity theft protection and parental controls. Our goal is to make powerful security accessible—whether you’re a single user or a multinational.

Rajeev: With phishing and cyberscams on the rise, especially through social media and messaging apps, how is ESET helping users stay protected?

Parvinder: According to our recent H1 2025 Threat Report, phishing and scams are now the top threats we see across the region, and attackers are increasingly exploiting trust in messaging platforms and social media.

ESET takes a multilayered approach to protecting users against phishing and scams, combining advanced anti-phishing technology, browser and email filtering, and behavior-based detection powered by machine learning. Our Cloud Office Security solution offers additional protection for Microsoft 365 environments, with features like anti-spoofing, homoglyph detection, and phishing email filtering. These capabilities work together to prevent scams across websites, messaging platforms, and email, helping both individuals and businesses stay secure in an increasingly deceptive digital world.

Beyond technology, education is key. We have a regularly updated family and safety online blog which helps parents and children understand and avoid common online traps.

Rajeev: Please tell about your channel strength in India? Are there any special programs, certifications, or incentives that ESET offers to its partners?

Parvinder: At ESET, we’re a channel-first company, and that philosophy shapes everything we do. We take a highly tailored approach when it comes to supporting businesses—because we know every partner is different. Our partners have their own niche focus areas and specializations, and we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model. Instead, we work closely with each of them to align on go-to-market strategies, enablement, and solutions that best serve their customers. That’s how we build long-term, mutually successful relationships.
