Optoma has built a strong presence in India’s visual display market through advanced projection technology, professional AV solutions, and innovation-led offerings. As demand evolves across corporate, home, and education segments, the company is expanding its focus on next-generation display solutions. In an exclusive interaction with DT, Vijay Sharma, Managing Director, Optoma Technology (I) Pvt Ltd, shares insights into the company’s performance, AI-led roadmap, partner strategy, localization initiatives, and priorities for 2026.
Q: Please tell us about your overall business performance in 2025. What have been the most significant factors driving the company’s growth?
A: Overall, we grew in 2025 as we registered constant growth in corporate and home segment. In some ways, the market shifted differently which we could not anticipate. Especially, the education sector saw several challenges, and the projector segment fell short of our growth expectations due to declined demand. Meanwhile, the projector and ProAV segments experienced good growth, as consumers prefer projectors that deliver good performance, crystal clear and bright images, creating theatre like experience. With our high-end, eco-friendly 4K projectors, we retained our leadership position in the home segment.
We also saw steady demand coming from corporate spaces such as meeting rooms and hybrid work environments, where companies are investing more in better visual collaboration tools. At the same time, there’s a growing shift toward larger displays and laser-based projection, as users are looking for brighter visuals, longer product life, and a more reliable viewing experience both at work and at home.
Q: With AI becoming central to innovation, what does your 2026 product roadmap look like, particularly in terms of AI powered advancements?
A: We believe that artificial intelligence and automation are set to play a transformative role in the projector industry in 2026 too. We anticipate a strong rise in demand for AI-enabled Interactive Flat Panels (IFPs) and projectors.
For the education sector these advanced displays are likely to reshape the landscape by introducing smart, innovative tools that redefine teaching and learning experiences. As a well-established provider of advanced technology solutions, we are manufacturing AI enabled IFPDs for the study purposes.
In 2026 we will continue launching advanced projectors for both home and commercial segments, including upcoming models such as PK52 and UHR90DV. In addition, we are introducing our N-Series signage professional displays, expected to launch in the first half of the year, further expanding our portfolio and strengthening our market presence.
Q: What concrete steps are you taking to further strengthen partner engagement and long-term channel collaboration?
A: Over the years, Optoma has established a strong partnership with its distributers and dealers. We believe that our channel partners are the backbone of our success, playing a pivotal role in our continued growth in the country. Our channel partner network helps us build our strong local presence and trusted relationships to penetrate markets that would otherwise be challenging to access directly.
We believe in a fair partner relationship. Therefore, we ensure that our partners receive a fair share of profitability and revenue. We also have plans to upgrade their skills by hosting workshops, training programs, partner meet-ups, and large-scale dealer events in various cities. These initiatives provide a platform to share innovative ideas, business strategies, express our gratitude, and to further strengthen our collaboration with dealers and partners nationwide.
Q: How is your organization supporting the Make in India initiative, and what role does localization play in your future growth plans?
A: Optoma is supporting the Government of India’s flagship Make in India initiative by manufacturing AI-powered Creative Touch 33-Series Interactive Flat Panel Display in Gujarat. Launched in 2025, Optoma’s Creative Touch 33-Series IFPDs are designed to enable fully connected classroom environments, enhancing both teaching efficiency and creative learning.
These IFPDs allow strong student–teacher interaction and improved academic outcomes, supported by advanced AI-driven features that maximize educational effectiveness. By consistently delivering high-value, future-ready solutions, we remain committed to bringing more innovative and technologically advanced products to the Indian market in 2026 too.
Q: What are your top strategic priorities for 2026 across revenue, expansion, and market positioning?
A: As we move into 2026, Optoma looks forward to a new phase of growth, reinforcing its identity as a leader pro AV solutions brand. Our N-Series professional displays, AI-powered Made-in-India Interactive Flat Panels, and expanded LED portfolio—supported by our proven laser projector range—position us to deliver fully integrated, innovative, future-ready visual solutions for every environment.
Alongside product innovation, we will continue focusing on strengthening our partner ecosystem through regular training programs, workshops, and closer collaboration with our dealer and distributor network. We also see strong momentum in the LED display segment, which is gradually emerging as a fast-growing category within the broader visual solutions market.
