With a legacy of over three decades, Fortune Marketing continues to evolve under the leadership of Mr. Manoj Gupta, Managing Director. In 2024, the company marked a pivotal shift—diversifying its product portfolio, and expanding brand visibility across India. In this conversation, Mr. Gupta outlines how these milestones set the stage for an ambitious 2025, where innovation, channel empowerment, and a customer-first approach will drive Fortune’s next chapter of growth.
Rajeev: How did your business perform in CY 2024? What were the key factors that contributed to this success?
Manoj: CY 2024 marked a milestone year for Fortune Marketing Pvt Ltd as we solidified our leadership in IT distribution by expanding nationwide reach and boosting product availability. Key growth drivers included onboarding global brands like Lenovo SSD and strengthening ties with HP, PNY, Acer, Tenda, Tiandy, Norton, McAfee, and ZOOOK, enhancing our portfolio in storage, networking, and surveillance. Aligning with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, we launched a Noida-based manufacturing unit in 2023 to produce networking, telecom, storage, and surveillance solutions.
Rajeev: What are your key business objectives for 2025? How do you plan to achieve them?
Manoj: As we move into 2025, our primary business objectives are centered around strengthening our leadership in IT distribution and accelerating growth in manufacturing. A key focus will be on scaling our manufacturing division by increasing production capacity and launching new product lines across networking, fiber, surveillance, and storage categories, in alignment with the "Make in India" initiative. We also plan to expand our channel network by onboarding more distributors and dealers to ensure wider reach for Fortune Marketing’s portfolio across the country.
Rajeev: What key challenges do you anticipate for the distribution business this year, and what advice would you give to navigate them effectively?
Manoj: The IT distribution industry is undergoing rapid transformation, and 2025 is expected to bring a mix of opportunities and challenges. One of the major hurdles will be intense competition and mounting price pressure, which calls for a stronger focus on value-added services, exclusive product offerings, and robust after-sales support rather than competing solely on pricing. Additionally, supply chain disruptions caused by global component shortages and logistical issues continue to pose a threat, highlighting the need for smarter inventory planning and accurate demand forecasting. Evolving channel partner expectations around better margins, flexible credit terms, and quicker deliveries also require attention.
To effectively navigate these challenges, it is essential to invest in local manufacturing to reduce import dependency and ensure pricing and supply stability. Moreover, strengthening ties with channel partners by offering exclusive benefits, faster service, and comprehensive training will be vital to maintaining long-term business sustainability.
Rajeev: What key trends do you think will shape the ICT distribution landscape in 2025?
Manoj: The ICT distribution landscape in 2025 will be shaped by several transformative trends. A significant rise in "Make in India" products is anticipated, driven by strong government support for local manufacturing. There will also be increased demand for smart and AI-powered products such as advanced surveillance systems, cloud-based networking solutions, and intelligent peripherals, which are becoming essential for modern businesses and consumers.
Rajeev: What are your expectations from brands/OEMs to foster a more collaborative and profitable partnership?
Manoj: For the ICT distribution ecosystem to thrive, brands and OEMs must collaborate closely with distributors through consistent innovation, transparent communication, flexible pricing, and responsive support. Aligning with market trends and customer needs while fostering a shared growth mindset is crucial for long-term success. At Fortune Marketing Pvt Ltd, we remain committed to driving India’s IT and networking landscape forward through quality products, efficient distribution, and strong partnerships. With our legacy in IT distribution and new strides in manufacturing, we aim to reach greater milestones in 2025 and contribute meaningfully to the country’s digital progress.
