In this exclusive interview, Mr. Alok Nigam, Managing Director of Brother International India Pvt. Ltd., shares key insights into the company’s growth journey and outlines ambitious plans for 2025, including deeper expansion into Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
Rajeev: How did your business perform in CY 2024? What were the key factors that contributed to this success?
Alok: 2024 was a rewarding year for us at Brother India. We saw solid growth across our printer and label solutions, especially in smaller cities and among small businesses. What made the real difference was our close connection with customers and partners—we listened, adapted, and delivered. With hybrid work here to stay, people needed compact, reliable devices for home and office use. At the same time, retail and logistics businesses turned to us for smart labeling solutions to keep up with demand. Strengthening our service network and offering region-specific solutions also played a huge part in building trust.
Rajeev: What are your key business objectives for 2025? How do you plan to achieve them?
Alok: In 2025, we’re focusing on reaching deeper into Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, where more and more people are looking for dependable and affordable tech solutions. We also want to make it easier for customers to access our products directly, so growing our presence on our online store and popular e-commerce platforms is a big priority. We're looking at expanding our range of energy-efficient printers—especially the kind that work well for small businesses, home users, and schools. To make all this happen, we’ll be working even more closely with our customers and partners, strengthening local marketing efforts, and growing our support network. The goal is simple: stay connected, be flexible, and keep adding value in ways that truly matter to people across the country.
Rajeev: What new opportunities do you foresee in your industry?
Alok: We’re seeing huge potential in sectors like education, healthcare, and logistics. These industries need dependable, user-friendly devices—and they’re moving fast. There's also a shift towards mobile and subscription-based printing solutions, and we’re exploring ways to meet these needs smartly.
Rajeev: What is your current channel strength, and how do you plan to enhance it in 2025?
Alok: Our partner network is one of our biggest strengths, with over 250+ partners across the country. We believe in growing with our partners, not just through them. In 2025, we’ll support them more with tailored training, better margins and incentives, and a new digital partner portal to make doing business smoother.
Rajeev: What new product categories or services are you planning to introduce in 2025?
Alok: We’re continuously exploring ways to expand our offerings in line with evolving customer needs. While it's a bit early to share details, a few new product categories and service enhancements are certainly on the cards for 2025. Our focus will remain on delivering solutions that are practical, reliable, and relevant across industries. We look forward to revealing more as plans take shape in the coming months.
