In this interview, Mr. Vinay Shetty, Regional Director, Component Business, ASUS (India & South Asia), reflects on the company’s impressive performance, particularly in AI-driven server solutions, and the strong growth of their motherboard and component business.
Rajeev: How did your business perform in CY 2024? What were the key factors that contributed to this success?
Vinay: We had an immensely successful year in 2024 as far as business is concerned. We have multiple success stories to narrate, ranging from the release of the latest Intel and AMD motherboards to the stellar success of our server business. In fact, our AI server business overshadowed all others towards the final quarter of the year with the deployment of Yotta’s Shakti Cloud server solutions. The project is powered by our ESC N8-E11, an NVIDIA HGX H100 eight-GPU AI server, and is a key element in India’s push for development of AI solutions.
Rajeev: What are your key business objectives for 2025? How do you plan to achieve them?
Vinay: ASUS has a strong portfolio of products that are leaders in their respective segments. This is a time when the world demands extreme computing power, thanks to the leaps in Gen AI. At ASUS, we are determined to tap into this market with products that are relevant and unmatched in the respective segments. It is our constant endeavor to increase our market share in every segment we are present in, without compromising on the premium brand image we have created with our channel partners and customers.
Rajeev: What new opportunities do you foresee emerging in your industry?
Vinay: We see a lot of opportunities in the commercial products ecosystem with our servers and mini-PCs leading the segment. Our compact computing platforms such as NUC and GX10 are AI-enabled computing powerhouses. The GX10 is an Nvidia GB10 Grace Blackwell AI supercomputer designed for extreme AI computing, but with a compact mini-PC form factor. This product has seen tremendous interest in global markets. We are looking forward to bringing the GX10 and more innovative products to the Indian market.
Rajeev: What is your current channel strength, and how do you plan to enhance your channel ecosystem in 2025?
Vinay: Our channel partners have been instrumental in delivering us the success that we have achieved so far in this industry. In fact, no brand can hope to achieve this kind of success without their channel partners. Hence, we are committed to taking them along throughout the journey. While online and etail channels have captured much of the consumer market, our business is predominantly offline. Hence it is important for us to give equal weight to both online and offline channels and enhance our partnerships with timely support and incentive programs. We plan to cement these relationships further by closely engaging with them in identifying problem areas if any and finding custom solutions to each of these.
Rajeev: What new product categories or services are you planning to introduce in 2025?
Vinay: We introduced the NUC 14 series in 2024. We have already announced the NUC 15 series, which offer up to 3x performance improvement along with WiFi 7 compatibility. In this category, we also plan to introduce the ROG NUC (2025), which was showcased in CES. Apart from this, we are expanding our recently launched motherboards and graphics cards to accommodate specific SKUs targeting gaming and creative professionals, providing much needed flexibility in PC-builds.
