DT: What has been the most significant achievement in your career as a CTO, and how has it shaped your approach to technology leadership?
Mukesh: As a CTO, my key achievements include leading AI-driven visa processing, AI-based people analytics, and developing an end-to-end data platform. These initiatives highlighted the power of data, AI, and machine learning (ML) in driving innovation. The visa processing project streamlined a cumbersome process, enhancing efficiency and accuracy, while the people analytics tools improved workforce understanding and decision-making. The data platform democratized access, empowering all employees to perform analytics. Collectively, these accomplishments have shaped my leadership by emphasizing the importance of strategic AI and data-driven solutions, blending innovation with practical applications to deliver business value and foster human progress.
DT: Can you describe a pivotal moment or challenge in your professional journey that greatly influenced your career path or leadership style?
Mukesh: A pivotal moment in my career occurred when I led an innovation initiative requiring both technical expertise and a deep understanding of business needs. I realized that to drive meaningful change, bridging the gap between technology and business was essential.
This experience provided insight into the process from selecting the right technology to applying data and AI for business value. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, I adopted a people-centric approach, ensuring the innovation met both business objectives and team needs, which was crucial for driving adoption.
This shaped my leadership style by highlighting the importance of integrating people, processes, and technology to foster sustainable innovation. Now, I consistently focus on solving real business problems with AI and data while keeping the human element central to my decisions.

Mukesh: AI and Generative AI (GenAI) are poised to significantly impact the IT industry, representing a paradigm shift in data utilization and technology interaction.
The true impact of AI and GenAI will come from the human elementโour creativity and critical thinking. Organizations that succeed will integrate these technologies with human ingenuity to enhance capabilities.
