In this exclusive interview, Sanjeev Mehtani, Chief Sales Officer of Acer India, shares valuable insights into the company’s remarkable performance in 2024. DT: How did your business perform in CY 2024? What were the key factors that contributed to this success?

Sanjeev: In 2024, Acer India achieved strong growth, securing the No. 3 position among PC brands with a 15.4% market share in Q1. This success was driven by robust demand across commercial and consumer segments, especially for our AI-powered devices and expanded electronics portfolio, including the launch of Acerpure. Strategic investments in offline retail, particularly in tier 2 and 3 cities, along with solid channel partnerships, significantly boosted our reach. Our focus on innovation, operational agility, and localized solutions helped us adapt to market shifts and consistently deliver value.

DT: What are your key business objectives for 2025? How do you plan to achieve them?

Sanjeev: For 2025, our primary objective is to drive balanced growth across commercial and consumer segments, aiming to move closer to a 50:50 revenue split. We also plan to deepen our presence in tier 2 and 3 cities, expand our AI-driven product lineup, and enhance customer experience through digital and retail channels.  We also are working on increasing our Brand visibility by reaching the Consumer Electronics counter and making our presence felt with Acerpure Products and make further inroads in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets. Strategic partnerships, product innovation, and channel empowerment will be our focus areas.

DT: What new opportunities do you foresee emerging in your industry?

Sanjeev: The convergence of AI, edge computing, and sustainability is opening up transformative opportunities in our industry. With AI becoming mainstream, there’s a growing demand for intelligent, intuitive devices across both enterprise and consumer segments. Edge-ready solutions are creating space for real-time, decentralized computing, especially in sectors like manufacturing, education, and retail. Another significant shift is the rising consumer preference for eco-friendly technology, driving innovation in sustainable design and energy efficiency.

DT: What is your current channel strength, and how do you plan to enhance your channel ecosystem in 2025?

Sanjeev: Our channel strength is built on a wide and growing network of exclusive stores, multi-brand retail outlets, and regional distribution partners. Over the years, we have focused on making Acer more accessible, particularly in emerging markets. In 2025, the priority is to further strengthen this ecosystem by enhancing partner training, providing digital enablement tools, and expanding our after-sales service reach. We are also investing in deeper collaborations with channel partners to create shared value.

DT: What new product categories or services are you planning to introduce in 2025?

Sanjeev: In 2025, our focus is on deepening AI integration across our product ecosystem, extending beyond PCs into smart home devices, displays, and edge AI solutions. We aim to deliver more intuitive and connected experiences for both consumers and businesses.

We will continue expanding the Acerpure portfolio with innovative lifestyle electronics. Additionally, we will also continue to expand our commercial products category. These efforts align with our goal of offering smarter, more sustainable technology for modern living.
