Oracle outlined its strategy and go-to-market plan to dominate the cloud and AI market in India. Oracle Cloud is already one of the fastest growing global hyperscale public cloud providers, and in India, the company continues to witness growth across its cloud portfolio.
Demand for Oracle Cloud has grown more since the company launched its Cloud Regions in India – in Mumbai in 2019 and in Hyderabad in 2020. Since launch, capacities at these MeitY empanelled cloud regions have been increased multiple times, to accommodate the growing demand for cloud by customers in the private and public sectors.

New innovations
Multicloud:
Last year, Oracle expanded its multi-cloud capabilities with Google with Oracle Database@Google Cloud. Before that, Oracle announced a partnership with Microsoft Azure and also HeatWave MySQL on AWS. The company recently announced an Oracle Interconnect for Google Cloud in Mumbai and an Oracle Database@Azure region to soon be available in Central India. Oracle is committed to building standards-based products for customers, to reduce complexity and help them get the most out of their technology investments.
Partnerships with AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure allow Oracle customers to use Oracle Database services on multiple clouds and simplify cloud migration and management, enabling them to run workloads across clouds. Indian enterprises are excited with these developments as it allows them to simplify cloud migration, multicloud deployment, and data management.
AI and Generative AI:
Oracle’s AI strategy spans its entire product portfolio with AI and machine learning functionalities available across its infrastructure layer, platform services, databases, and business applications. OCI’s core advantages are speed, scale, availability, flexibility – and it delivers high quality cloud infrastructure for generative AI training and inferencing.
On the applications side, Oracle has integrated 50 generative AI agents in its Fusion Cloud SaaS applications. These agents help organizations achieve new levels of productivity by successfully completing frequent, repetitive tasks and allowing employees and managers to focus their time on more strategic tasks and initiatives. The new agents enable customers to fully automate end-to-end business processes while also delivering personalized insights, content, and recommendations in the context of specific business processes and in support of specialized user roles.
Premalakshmi PR, vice president, Technology Cloud, Oracle India "OCI has experienced growth in both revenue and consumption. We doubled down on our strategy to give customers flexibility to access and deploy cloud capability wherever they need them – be it in the public cloud or in a dedicated or sovereign model, or in multicloud environments. Oracle’s AI strategy spans our entire product portfolio. As more organisations look to take advantage of AI, it’s also becoming a key driver of our cloud business. We are seeing momentum across BFSI, fintechs, NBFCs, IT/ITeS, manufacturing, SMB, digital natives and public sector.”
