Rajiv Bajaj has been reappointed as Managing Director & CEO of Bajaj Auto Ltd for another five-year term, starting April 1, 2025, strengthening his continued leadership at the company. Additionally, Abhinav Bindra has also been re-elected as a Non-executive Independent Director of the Company for a second consecutive five-year, effective May 20, 2025.
“The Board of Directors of the Company, based on the recommendations of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, at its meeting held on 18 March 2025 have approved the following re-appointment of the Directors, subject to approval of the Shareholders of the Company. Shri Rajivnayan Rahulkumar Bajaj as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of the Company for another term of five consecutive years with effect from 1 April 2025. Shri Abhinav Bindra as a Non-executive Independent Director of the Company for a second term of five consecutive years with effect from 20 May 2025,” the company’s stock exchange filing wrote.
Since joining Bajaj Auto in 1990, he has been instrumental in enhancing the company’s presence and expanding across manufacturing, R&D, engineering, and marketing. Under his guidance, Bajaj Auto has achieved significant milestones, reinforcing its position in the automobile industry. Rajivnayan Rahulkumar Bajaj is the sibling of Shri Sanjivnayan Bajaj, who serves as a Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director of the company. Since April 2005, he has served as the Managing Director of the company.
Having a strong academic background, Bajaj graduated with distinction in Mechanical Engineering from the renowned College of Engineering Pune (COEP). He later earned a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Warwick. Throughout his career, Bajaj has received numerous awards and accolades from prominent organizations for his business leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and innovative contributions. Notably, under his guidance, Bajaj Auto was honored as the "Outstanding Company of the Year" at the India Business Leader Awards (IBLA) 2024 by CNBC-TV18.
At the same time, Abhinav Bindra is a renowned athlete, who made history as the first Indian to win an Individual Olympic Gold and the first to secure a World Championship Gold in Air Rifle Shooting. He has accumulated over 150 individual medals throughout his sports career, spanning more than twenty years. His final Olympic appearance was in Rio 2016, where he held 4th place.
