Success in the tech industry often comes with a set of unwritten rules—rules that favor persistence, innovation, and strategic thinking. Yet, for decades, leadership in this space has been largely associated with men. Sneha Singh, General Manager – Ecommerce, TP-Link India, has never been one to accept limitations, especially those imposed by societal norms.
Breaking Barriers in a Male-Dominated Industry
Despite the challenges of entering a tech industry traditionally dominated by men, Sneha saw an opportunity. “I was drawn to the rapidly evolving field of e-commerce because it combines technology and customer behaviour. Despite the male-dominated nature of the tech sector, I believe there is increasing room for women to contribute distinctive viewpoints, particularly in the areas of market analytics, digital strategy, and customer experience. I intended to dismantle boundaries, use technology to propel company expansion, and demonstrate that leadership and expertise are determined by vision and abilities rather than gender,” she noted.
Key Milestones in a Thriving Leadership Journey
“It was a turning point for me to take on the position of Head of E-commerce, which gave me the ability to direct strategy and execution on well-known marketplaces like Amazon and Flipkart. Scaling operations, improving performance, and creating a powerful online presence were my objectives,” she shares.
“Driving steady revenue growth through data-driven pricing, marketplace strategy optimization, and the use of successful ad campaigns has been one of my major accomplishments. We greatly increased sales and brand awareness by enhancing consumer engagement and product discoverability. Efficiency is the key to e-commerce. I oversaw digital transformation projects that increased data analytics for better decision-making, expedited inventory management, and improved order fulfilment. These adjustments led to lower expenses and more operational efficiency. In addition to fostering immediate business expansion, I actively participate in influencing the direction of e-commerce by gaining knowledge of the sector, offering mentorship, and embracing cutting-edge technologies like voice commerce and AI-driven recommendations,” she explains.
