Now, speaking about our product lineup, MSI India is expanding significantly in 2025. The first major highlight is product expansion as always, we are among the first to bring cutting-edge technology to the market. The RTX 50 Series laptops will feature top-tier GPUs, including the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080. This year, we are expanding our 18-inch power lineup, with price points ranging from ₹6 lakh down to ₹2.2 lakh. Previously, this lineup was limited to premium models like the Titan and Raider series, but in 2025, we are introducing it across additional series such as Vector and Crosshair, giving consumers more choices across different segments.

Rajeev: How is MSI leveraging AI and broadening its offerings beyond gaming?

Bruce: As MSI continues to lead in AI-driven computing, we are leveraging RTX computing power to integrate advanced AI capabilities. Traditionally, users relied on cloud-based AI assistants such as ChatGPT, DeepSeek, Gemini, and Copilot+, but now, the landscape is changing. With low-power, high-performance AI chipsets embedded directly in our laptops, we are entering the era of Edge Computing. This allows users to run small language models (SLMs) directly on personal devices, ensuring enhanced security, improved battery life, and optimized performance without depending on cloud servers. Additionally, MSI is introducing MSI AI Robot, which simplifies system optimization through natural language commands.

Beyond gaming, MSI is also expanding its presence in the business laptop market. We are introducing an exciting new lineup called the Venture Series, designed specifically for entrepreneurs, startups, creative professionals, and students. While our Prestige Series caters to users who prefer an elegant and premium magnesium-aluminum chassis, the Venture Series offers a wider range of options at price points between ₹70,000 to ₹2 lakh. This series includes both Intel and AMD processors, along with integrated or discrete RTX graphics (40 Series and 50 Series), providing greater flexibility for different user needs.

Overall, MSI is focused on delivering innovation, expanding our product range, and enhancing AI-driven user experiences across gaming, business, and creative segments.

Rajeev: How is MSI aligning its current strategies and initiatives with the Government of India's "Make in India" vision?

Bruce: We publicly announced this initiative in November 2024, but the process began much earlier. We have been proactively exploring opportunities, identifying the right partners, and gaining a deeper understanding of the local ecosystem. Fortunately, we officially launched our "Make in India" efforts last November, but this is just the beginning. We are continuously working to collaborate with more local manufacturers to expand our portfolio. Our approach is demand-driven, meaning we are starting with the most popular models in India. Currently, the Modern and Thin series are already available in the market, making locally manufactured MSI laptops accessible to customers.

Rajeev: How has the market responded to MSI’s handheld devices so far, and what kind of growth have you observed in this segment?

Bruce: Gaming handhelds are a relatively new concept, not just in India but globally, emerging over the past two years. We are proud to be one of the only two brands officially offering a gaming handheld device in the market. Since the launch of the first generation MSI Claw in April last year, we have observed a steady increase in demand.

From MSI’s perspective, we don’t solely define it as a gaming handheld; rather, it can also function as a mini PC. While it offers portable entertainment, it can transform into a full-fledged workstation when connected to an external monitor via Thunderbolt. Since it shares the same processor as a laptop, it delivers powerful performance. For instance, many content creators we work with use the MSI Claw for editing 4K review videos, which showcases its versatility and processing capabilities.

Moreover, we are excited to introduce the next-generation MSI Claw, which will feature an upgraded processor with lower power consumption while delivering even better performance. It will be launching in India soon, and we look forward to seeing how the market responds.

Rajeev: AI has become a central pillar of modern computing. How is MSI leveraging AI to enhance user experience across its devices?

Bruce: AI has been a topic of discussion for years, but its application across different scenarios has evolved significantly. Around five years ago, MSI introduced its system detection and control software, MSI Center, which incorporated an AI engine. This AI engine automatically detects the type of software or scenario in use and optimizes system performance accordingly.

As computing power continues to improve, the detection process has become faster and more refined, thanks to collaborations between MSI and software providers. For instance, when a user launches a gaming title, the system automatically detects it, increases fan speed, overclocks the GPU, and switches to extreme performance mode as needed. Conversely, if the user is working with general productivity software like Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, the system optimizes power consumption by switching to balance mode, reducing display brightness, and extending battery life—ensuring a comfortable and efficient work experience.

Rajeev: Beyond performance optimization, how else is MSI incorporating AI to improve user interactions and privacy?

Bruce: MSI has implemented AI Noise Cancellation Pro, which intelligently detects and minimizes ambient noise during meetings or recordings. This feature works bidirectionally, reducing background noise not only from the user's side but also from other participants.

MSI has also introduced MSI AI Robot, a natural language AI assistant that enhances user experience while ensuring data security. Unlike cloud-based AI services, this on-device AI assistant processes data locally, reducing concerns about data privacy. This is particularly beneficial for entrepreneurs and startups, as it allows them to work securely without the risk of sensitive information being transmitted to cloud servers.

Rajeev: How do you see the growth potential in India, and what’s your vision for MSI’s journey here in the coming year?

Bruce: For the Indian market, one key observation is that while everything is evolving rapidly, one thing remains unchanged—the continuous and robust growth. The market is expanding at a fast pace, and this year, in particular, we see strong momentum, especially from gamers looking to upgrade to the latest graphics cards.

Looking ahead to 2025, the word that best represents MSI’s vision is expansion—not just in product segments, but also in channels and services. In terms of channel expansion, we are strengthening our physical presence beyond e-commerce platforms. We have partnered with Croma and Reliance Digital, where MSI products are now available for in-store demonstrations. Initially launched at a few select locations, our presence within Croma has now doubled, reflecting the increasing demand for our products.

Rajeev: Could you share some of the key initiatives you're taking to strengthen customer engagement and support across the country?

Bruce: Our MSI Brand Stores, which were initially set up in major metro cities, have now expanded into satellite cities as well, experiencing 5X growth in terms of locations. Beyond product demonstrations, we are also enhancing customer engagement through events, workshops, and service initiatives at these stores.

On the service front, our network has grown significantly. Back in 2020, we had around 50–60 service points, but today, that number has expanded to 175, ensuring better customer support and accessibility. We have also introduced in-store service events, allowing customers to bring in their laptops for routine maintenance, dust cleaning, or hardware upgrades—enhancing overall customer experience.

Furthermore, MSI is actively engaging with the gaming and creator communities by organizing over 100+ events annually, including gaming tournaments, creator workshops, and developer conferences. These initiatives provide young talent with a platform to showcase their skills, interact with industry professionals, and collaborate on innovative projects. With all these efforts, MSI is committed to strengthening its footprint in India and delivering a superior experience to its customers, whether through product innovation, retail expansion, or community engagement.

Rajeev: What message would you like to share with MSI users and potential customers?

Bruce: We always strive for excellence and continuously seek new opportunities. MSI is committed to expanding its presence in India, bringing more possibilities and innovations to our customers.
