Kaspersky Believes ChatGPT is A Ground-breaking Chatbot Trained on Large Internet Text Dataset

NDM News Network

ChatGPT is an innovative technology empowering organizations around the world. ChatGPT’s success is a sign of its tremendous capabilities and in the coming time we can see more advancements in this AI tool. Commenting on the success of ChatGPT, Purshottam Bhatia, Head of Consumer Business for South Asia, Kaspersky said, “Its Although machine learning principles have been established for over a half-century, they have only recently been extensively used in practice. ChatGPT is a ground-breaking chatbot trained on a large Internet text dataset using the neural network-based language model. It can generate human-like text in a combination of styles and formats. ChatGPT is being used by scientists, journalists, and general hobbyists.

“Although ChatGPT can be tailored to perform specific activities like answering questions, summarising material, and tackling cybersecurity-related issues like writing incident reports or deciphering decompiled code, we should also note that malicious objects, such as phishing emails and polymorphic malware, have been attempted to be created.”

“ChatGPT is a jack of all trades. It will be followed by more specialised chatbots, which will transform our operations. And that may be the headline to pay attention to rather than the cybersecurity hazards of ChatGPT,” stated by him.

ChatGPT’s Impact on Industries

Kaspersky GReAT researchers believe that AI will be used over the next decade to create most online content (first text and images, then videos and video games). Lawyers, teachers, physicians, and others should expect their careers to change dramatically.

“AI will be unique: it will take over many tedious tasks, bring new abilities to everyone’s fingertips, and kickstart new art forms. One key area is the incredibly conversational and intelligent nature of chatbots like ChatGPT, especially when combined with data on customers or prospects. They can significantly expand the use cases in which chatbots autonomously interact with prospects and customers for marketing objectives. Imagine a future in which ChatGPT could manage a whole sales-related interaction with a prospect from beginning to end (especially as sales conversations are typically much more pattern-based and regulated than support conversations). Looking at AI in a broader sense, we will most likely see increasing customization of everything, as well as more and more diverse channels for delivering that personalization (like chatbots). It will make businesses more savvy and successful in positioning themselves to customers and make it more incumbent on them to tighten how they construct their brand,” added by him.

Cybersecurity Risks

Talking about the cybersecurity risks, he said, “ChatGPT may assist criminals in creating phishing emails or malicious code, but none of these has ever been a limiting factor. Our researchers have discovered a unique and persisting malware campaign that takes advantage of the increasing popularity of the ChatGPT AI chatbot. Cybercriminals are circulating the malware through Facebook forums, posing as a desktop version of ChatGPT. Users are infected with the Fobo Trojan instead of the bot, which steals sensitive information such as Facebook, TikTok, and Google account credentials and personal and business financial data.”

“Experts in content analysis are working hard to build techniques to detect chatbot texts. We would offer two traditional recommendations (vigilance and cybersecurity awareness training) and one new one. Discover how to identify bot-generated readers. Although mathematical features are invisible to the naked eye, subtle stylistic oddities and inconsistencies reveal the robots.”

“To stay protected, we recommend being cautious when downloading software from the internet, especially from a third-party website. Always try to download software from the firm or service's official website. Users should verify that the website they are downloading software from is legitimate. Look for the padlock icon in the address bar and ensure that the website's URL starts with "https://" to ensure the website is secure. We also suggest using strong, unique passwords for each of your accounts and enabling two-factor authentication whenever possible. It can help protect your accounts from being compromised by attackers. We all must be wary of suspicious links or emails from unknown sources. Scammers often use social engineering techniques to trick users into clicking on links or downloading malicious software,” concluded by him.
