Reliance Jio has introduced a new ₹200 Jio OTT Pass that combines access to 15 streaming platforms, more than 1,000 live television channels, high-speed mobile data, and unlimited 5G connectivity in a single bundled offering.

The telecom operator announced that the new plan became available from May 27 as part of its expanding content-led strategy aimed at strengthening customer engagement and increasing digital consumption across entertainment services.

The launch highlights how telecom companies are increasingly positioning themselves not just as connectivity providers, but as integrated digital entertainment ecosystems competing for user attention in India’s rapidly growing streaming market.

Bundled Streaming and Connectivity Offering

According to the company, the ₹200 OTT Pass includes subscriptions to 15 over-the-top (OTT) platforms alongside access to more than 1,000 live TV channels.

The pack also offers 30 GB of high-speed data and unlimited 5G access for a validity period of 28 days.

Jio said the bundled benefits collectively represent an estimated value of nearly ₹1,500 per month, positioning the plan as an affordable all-in-one entertainment package for mobile users.

While the company has not positioned the offering as a premium subscription product, the move is clearly targeted at users increasingly consuming entertainment through smartphones, connected TVs, and mobile streaming platforms.

Telecom Firms Intensify Content Competition

The launch reflects a broader shift underway in India’s telecom industry, where operators are aggressively bundling streaming services, live television, gaming, and digital subscriptions to retain subscribers and improve average revenue per user (ARPU).

With mobile data prices remaining highly competitive, telecom providers are increasingly using exclusive content ecosystems and bundled entertainment offerings as a key differentiator.

The strategy has become especially important as 5G adoption accelerates and video consumption continues to dominate mobile internet usage across India.

Analysts note that OTT bundling helps telecom companies increase customer stickiness while encouraging higher data consumption across networks.

India’s Streaming Market Continues to Expand

India remains one of the world’s fastest-growing digital entertainment markets, driven by rising smartphone penetration, affordable mobile data, expanding regional-language content, and increasing adoption of connected devices.

Streaming platforms have also intensified partnerships with telecom companies to reach larger audiences through prepaid and postpaid subscription bundles.

Jio, which already operates a large digital ecosystem spanning broadband, mobile services, streaming platforms, cloud services, and connected devices, has been steadily expanding its entertainment offerings to strengthen user retention within its network.

5G Push Remains Central to Jio Strategy

The inclusion of unlimited 5G connectivity in the OTT Pass also aligns with Jio’s broader strategy to accelerate adoption of next-generation mobile services.

Telecom companies globally are increasingly pairing 5G plans with premium digital experiences such as ultra-high-definition streaming, cloud gaming, live sports, and AI-powered content services to encourage users to migrate toward higher-value plans.

For Jio, entertainment-led bundles may also help drive increased usage across its growing digital services portfolio while reinforcing its competitive position in India’s telecom market.

Content Bundling Becomes Key Growth Driver

Industry experts believe bundled entertainment subscriptions will continue becoming a major battleground among telecom providers as users seek simplified digital access rather than managing multiple standalone subscriptions.

As competition intensifies across streaming, sports broadcasting, and digital media consumption, telecom operators are expected to increasingly package connectivity with entertainment ecosystems, cloud services, and AI-driven digital experiences.
