India's oil marketing companies (OMCs) have announced a significant reduction in the prices of commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders, offering relief to businesses and commercial establishments as global energy markets show signs of stabilisation.

Effective July 1, 2026, the price of commercial LPG cylinders has been reduced by an average of ₹180 per cylinder, while 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders have become cheaper by approximately ₹13 per cylinder.

The latest revision comes as international crude oil prices ease following a decline in geopolitical tensions that had previously disrupted global energy markets.

Relief for Commercial Users

The reduction primarily benefits commercial consumers, including hotels, restaurants, catering businesses, food vendors, and small enterprises that rely heavily on LPG for daily operations.

Lower fuel costs are expected to reduce operating expenses for businesses, particularly in the hospitality and food services sectors, where commercial LPG is a major input cost.

The revised prices have been implemented by state-run oil marketing companies across the country.

Global Oil Prices Influence Domestic Fuel Costs

The price revision follows a cooling in international crude oil markets after recent geopolitical pressures eased, leading to lower input costs for petroleum products.

Domestic LPG prices, especially commercial cylinders, are periodically revised based on changes in global benchmark fuel prices, import costs, and currency movements.

The latest cut reflects improving market conditions after months of volatility driven by international conflicts and supply concerns.

Reduction in 5-kg Free Trade LPG Cylinders

In addition to commercial cylinders, oil companies have also reduced the price of 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders by around ₹13 per cylinder.

These cylinders are commonly used by small businesses, temporary establishments, and consumers requiring portable LPG solutions, making the reduction beneficial for a wider range of users.

Domestic ATF Prices Also Revised

Alongside LPG, oil marketing companies have also lowered the prices of Domestic Air Turbine Fuel (ATF).

Lower ATF prices can help reduce fuel costs for aviation operators, although the overall impact on airfares will depend on airline pricing strategies and other operational expenses.
