A shocking murder case has emerged from Agra, where the body of a man who had been missing for 45 days was discovered buried beneath the bathroom floor of his own home. Police have arrested the victim's wife after uncovering the decomposed remains during an investigation into his disappearance.
Missing Person Case Takes a Grim Turn
The victim, Surendra Kumar Sharma (44), had been missing since May 18. According to police, his wife, Ruby, allegedly told family members, neighbours, and investigators that Sharma had gone somewhere and would eventually return.
As days passed without any trace of him, relatives grew increasingly concerned and a missing person's report was filed on May 26. Despite the complaint, the mystery surrounding his disappearance remained unsolved for several weeks.
Body Found Beneath Newly Laid Bathroom Tiles
The investigation took a dramatic turn when police became suspicious and searched the couple's residence. During the inspection, investigators reportedly noticed newly laid bathroom tiles, prompting a closer examination.
Excavation beneath the bathroom floor led to the recovery of Surendra Kumar Sharma's decomposed body, revealing that it had allegedly been concealed inside the house throughout the 45-day period.
The discovery stunned family members, who had repeatedly visited the residence while searching for the missing man, unaware that his body was buried beneath the floor.
Wife Arrested as Investigation Continues
Following the recovery of the body, police arrested Ruby in connection with the case. Investigators are now working to establish the motive behind the alleged murder and determine whether anyone else was involved in the crime.
Forensic teams have collected evidence from the scene, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to help determine the exact cause and time of death.
Police Probe Motive and Possible Conspiracy
Authorities are questioning the accused and examining call records, forensic evidence, and witness statements to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to Sharma's disappearance and death.
Police have not ruled out the possibility of additional suspects and said the investigation remains ongoing.
