Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Approves 69.52-Acre Robotics and AI Park in Greater Noida

The initiative aims to attract technology companies, industrial investors and research organisations by providing specialised infrastructure for developing and commercialising emerging technologies.

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has approved the establishment of a dedicated robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) park in Greater Noida, marking a significant step towards strengthening the state’s advanced technology ecosystem. The proposed Platform for Robotics and AI Growth Through Technology and Innovation (PRAGATI) Park will span 69.52 acres and focus on robotics manufacturing, AI development, research and industrial innovation.

According to the media reports, the project is expected to generate more than one lakh direct and indirect jobs and contribute approximately ₹2,000 crore annually to the state’s economy once fully developed. The initiative aims to attract technology companies, industrial investors and research organisations by providing specialised infrastructure for developing and commercialising emerging technologies.

Advanced Infrastructure for AI and Robotics

PRAGATI Park will feature shared facilities designed to support businesses across the robotics and AI value chain. These will include robotics testing and certification centres, rapid prototyping facilities, AI computing infrastructure, motion-capture systems and specialised data laboratories.

The proposed infrastructure is intended to help companies develop, test and refine technology solutions while improving access to facilities that require significant investment. Robotics developers, AI startups, manufacturers and research organisations could benefit from an integrated environment for experimentation, product development and industrial deployment.

By bringing these capabilities together, the park aims to encourage innovation, support domestic manufacturing and strengthen collaboration between technology businesses and research institutions.

Public-Private Partnership to Drive Development

The project will be developed in two zones under different investment structures. The first zone, covering eight acres, will be developed and operated through a special purpose vehicle (SPV) under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.

The Greater Noida Authority will hold a 26% stake in the SPV, while the selected private industrial partner will own the remaining 74%. The authority will contribute ₹21.1 crore as equity, and the state government will provide an interest-free loan of ₹126.2 crore for 30 years.

The second zone, spanning 61.52 acres, will be developed by private enterprises investing in industrial units and related activities. The state government will have no capital expenditure liability for this portion, creating additional scope for private-sector participation in the park’s development.

Commercial Operations Targeted Within 36 Months

Commercial operations in the first zone are targeted to begin within 36 months of the SPV’s registration. An extension of up to 48 months may be allowed if required.

The development timeline will depend on the formation of the SPV, selection of the private industrial partner, establishment of shared facilities and participation from technology companies. The park’s projected employment and economic contribution will ultimately depend on the scale of investment and industrial activity across both zones.

Greater Noida’s Technology Ambitions

With PRAGATI Park, Uttar Pradesh aims to establish dedicated infrastructure for technologies increasingly shaping manufacturing, automation and enterprise operations. The combination of AI computing resources, robotics testing facilities and industrial development could create opportunities for businesses seeking to build and manufacture advanced technology solutions in India.

If implemented as planned, the initiative could strengthen Greater Noida’s position as an emerging destination for robotics and AI development while supporting investment, employment and domestic technology innovation.
