DT Channel Connect 2026 featured a series of insightful keynote sessions delivered by respected industry leaders representing both national and regional perspectives.
Building the Future with Technology Innovation
Delivering the keynote address, Rajesh Khurana, Country Head – Consumer BU, South Asia, BIWIN Technology, reflected on his 29-year journey in the industry and his long-standing association with the DT since 2009. On the current DRAM shortage driving up prices, he said, "The whole industry was not prepared that it would be this much." He cautioned partners on the road ahead, stating, "As it used to run six months ago, it cannot run like that, and this is not a short-term phenomenon, this will run for the next few years." Looking forward, Khurana flagged the shift from Agentic AI to Inference AI, explaining, "That's where you have to store the output of the LLMs somewhere, and there you will need the demand of SSDs."
Punjab's Expanding Technology Ecosystem
Delivering the keynote address, Rahul Garg, President, Punjab Association of Computer Traders (PACT), highlighted the innovative strength of Punjab's IT trade, saying, "No industry might create as much innovation, whether it's the world, India, or Punjab, but I feel our industry creates the most." He noted that the state's progress is not limited to agriculture, observing that Punjab's IT and manufacturing ecosystem is expanding rapidly alongside its farming legacy, and said this collective push would help "Punjab's name, India's name, be known across the whole world, and India will become number one in manufacturing."
Ludhiana's Growing Role in India's ICT Landscape
Gurpreet Singh, President, Association of Computer Entrepreneurs (ACE), welcomed the gathering, calling it a proud moment for Ludhiana and Punjab to host a national-level platform, saying, "This is a great opportunity for Punjab, for Ludhiana, to have a national-level media city event in Punjab." Reflecting on how far the industry has evolved, he said, "No one can set a limit on the IT industry, nor is it dependent on anyone, starting from floppy disks, this industry is now moving ahead to SSDs and cloud computing."
Empowering the National Channel Community
Sanjeev Walia, Secretary, FAIITA, congratulated DT for a wonderful event in Ludhiana, adding that such events should be held on a regular basis. Speaking about the federation's role in safeguarding channel partners, Walia recalled how FAIITA intervened during the recent price surge in SSDs and RAM, explaining, "When the rates on these products went up by 50%, it became a very difficult situation, which we declared as force majeure." He described how the federation arranged meetings with GeM's CEO and later with the Ministry of Expenditure to represent partners' concerns.

DT Channel Connect 2026 featured an engaging presentation by Mohit Chugh, Commercial Channel Manager – Sales, AMD, who highlighted the growing importance of high-performance computing and Artificial Intelligence in shaping the future of technology adoption.
He shared AMD’s vision for enabling businesses with powerful computing solutions designed to support evolving workloads across AI, enterprise applications, content creation, and next-generation computing environments. He also highlighted how the growing adoption of AI is creating significant business opportunities for channel partners to build future-ready solutions and deliver greater value to customers.

The event also featured an insightful presentation by Anirban Mukherji, Founder & CEO, miniOrange, focusing on the evolving cybersecurity landscape and the growing opportunities for channel partners in identity security, data protection, and privacy solutions. He highlighted how organizations today are facing increasingly complex security challenges as digital transformation accelerates and Artificial Intelligence becomes deeply integrated into business operations. The session focused on the importance of securing identities, protecting sensitive information, and enabling organizations to build trusted digital environments.
