Viral Gandhi Elevated to Chief Technology Officer at Piramal Pharma

Piramal Pharma Limited has elevated Viral Gandhi to the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Senior Management Personnel, effective October 1, 2026. The elevation was approved by the company’s Board of Directors on September 30, 2026.

Prior to this elevation, Viral Gandhi was serving as President and Group Chief Information Officer of Piramal Group, where he was responsible for driving technology innovation and digital-led transformation across the Group’s entities. With more than three decades of experience in the technology industry, Viral Gandhi brings extensive expertise in enterprise IT, technology strategy, digital transformation and global technology delivery to the new role.

New Technology Leadership Role

As President and Group CIO, Viral Gandhi led group-wide technology initiatives and worked on enabling Piramal Group’s businesses to leverage technology and digital platforms to strengthen operations and stakeholder engagement. The role involved driving technology innovation and developing digital capabilities aligned with business objectives.

The elevation to CTO at Piramal Pharma expands Viral Gandhi’s technology leadership responsibilities as the company continues to strengthen its digital capabilities, technology infrastructure and technology-led business initiatives.

Leadership Experience Spans Multiple Industry Sectors

Viral Gandhi has held senior technology responsibilities within the Piramal Group, where he has led group-wide IT initiatives and contributed to the organisation’s technology and digital transformation agenda.

Before joining Piramal Group, Viral Gandhi served as Chief Information Officer at Cox & Kings Group, where he was involved in driving technology strategy and transformation initiatives across the group’s businesses and global operations.

Earlier in his career, Viral Gandhi worked with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), progressing through roles including Project Manager, IT Delivery Manager and IT Delivery Head. During his tenure, he managed global teams and technology programmes and worked with several Fortune 100 organisations, including General Electric, NASDAQ, World Bank, HP and Procter & Gamble.

Strong Track Record in Enterprise Technology

Viral Gandhi is a technology and digital strategist with experience in developing and implementing technology solutions, driving digital transformation and building technology-focused organisational cultures. His career spans enterprise IT, technology strategy, global service delivery and business transformation.

Viral Gandhi has also received several awards and recognitions for contributions to technology and innovation. His academic credentials include an Executive Leadership Program from Harvard Business School in the US and a Strategy and Innovation Program from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Viral Gandhi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from VJTI, Mumbai.

With the elevation, Viral Gandhi takes on an expanded technology leadership mandate at Piramal Pharma, bringing more than 25 years of experience to the company’s technology and digital transformation agenda.
