Extensive Leadership Experience Within bigbasket
Prior to his elevation, Kumar served as Head of Engineering, leading an engineering organization comprising hundreds of engineers and data scientists. During this period, he oversaw technology development across mobile and web applications, warehouse management systems, logistics platforms, payment infrastructure, data engineering, AI and machine learning initiatives, cybersecurity, DevOps, and SaaS-based enterprise solutions.
Earlier, as Director of Engineering, he played a pivotal role in strengthening supply chain systems and consumer technology platforms across Android, iOS, web, and progressive web applications. His contributions helped scale technology capabilities supporting multiple business verticals, including bigbasket, BB Now, and BB Daily.
Strong Background in Global Technology Leadership
Before joining bigbasket, Kumar spent more than six years at Amazon, where he held several senior technology leadership roles. At Amazon Prime Video, he led global content localization and language experience initiatives, enabling subtitle, dubbing, metadata, and localization technologies across more than 30 languages and over 190 countries and territories.
His professional journey also includes engineering leadership roles at NetApp, Motorola, and NXP Semiconductors, where he gained expertise in enterprise software, embedded systems, infrastructure technologies, communication protocols, and storage platforms.
