The 5th edition of the AMD ITL Cup 2026, organized by the Information Technology Sports Club (ITSC), concluded successfully after three days of high-voltage cricket, networking and ecosystem engagement at the Chitrakoot Grounds, Andheri West, Mumbai. Held from May 7 to May 9, 2026, the tournament once again delivered on its reputation as one of the most anticipated community platforms for India’s IT channel industry.
Over the years, the AMD ITL Cup has grown beyond a sporting tournament into one of the most anticipated community engagement initiatives within the Indian IT industry. What makes the league unique is its ability to unite distributors, OEMs, retailers, system integrators and channel partners under one roof, fostering stronger professional relationships beyond business meetings and boardroom discussions.
What stood out this year was not just the scale of participation, but the intensity of competition. Across three days of evening and late-night matches, the tournament witnessed several closely contested games, last-over finishes, and standout individual performances that kept spectators and participants engaged throughout.

Speaking exclusively to DT about the success and impact of the AMD ITL Cup 2026, Pankaj Dessai, Director – Commercial Channel and SMB, AMD India, said, “The AMD ITL Cup has grown into a truly meaningful platform for the IT channel ecosystem, bringing partners, distributors and stakeholders together in a unique environment. What stands out every year is the sheer energy on the ground every match feels like a final, with close finishes, constant momentum shifts and teams fighting till the very last ball. But beyond the competition, what really stays with you is the bonding, the laughter, the team spirit, and the way the entire community comes together as one. That is what makes this tournament far more than just cricket.”
Sharing his views with DT, Aashish Sawant, National Sales Manager – Volume and Distribution Business, AMD India, said, “For me, the biggest value of this tournament is the informal space it creates. In our day-to-day roles, interactions are structured and outcome-driven, but here everything is spontaneous. You end up talking to partners in a completely different setting, and that openness builds a level of comfort and trust that no formal meeting can replicate. It doesn’t feel like an event anymore, it feels like an annual reunion where competition just happens to be on the field.”
Speaking exclusively to DT about the AMD ITL Cup 2026, Kalpesh Chande, Director – Strategic Sales, Lenovo India, said, “This tournament is a reminder that the IT industry is built by people first, business second. When you watch these matches, you don’t just see teams competing you see peers pushing each other, supporting each other and enjoying the game together. That human connection is what ultimately strengthens how we work together as an ecosystem.”
Strengthening Industry Bonds Beyond Business
The successful conclusion of the AMD ITL Cup 2026 once again highlighted the importance of community-driven platforms in strengthening relationships across India’s IT channel ecosystem.
Talking exclusively to DT about the tournament, Sunil Thariani, Managing Director, Sound Solutions, said, “The AMD ITL Cup has grown into something the entire channel community looks forward to. It has the excitement of sport, but also the warmth of a community gathering. You see teams competing hard, but at the same time enjoying every moment together, which is what gives this event its unique character year after year.”
Speaking exclusively to DT about the broader value of the initiative, Mihir Kachalia, Partner at IMCC & Co., said, “What I find most interesting about the AMD ITL Cup is how it creates a very easy environment for people across the industry to connect. There’s no pressure, no formal setting, just genuine interaction. That kind of environment naturally helps build stronger professional understanding and long-term ecosystem alignment.”
Sharing his experience exclusively with DT, Biren Yadav, CEO and MD, Bluecom Infotech, said, “From a team perspective, this tournament is always intense and rewarding at the same time. Every match pushes you to perform, and every team brings strong competition. But beyond that, what really stands out is the way everyone comes together off the field. It creates a very positive and memorable experience for all of us involved.”
Beyond competition, the tournament served as a space where industry stakeholders came together to connect, collaborate and engage in a more informal and meaningful environment. As the IT industry continues to evolve rapidly, such initiatives play a vital role in fostering trust, teamwork and long-term ecosystem growth.
With its fifth successful edition, the AMD ITL Cup continues to stand as a benchmark for industry sports-led engagement, reinforcing the spirit of unity, collaboration and shared success within India’s technology channel community.
