Sharing Bitdefender’s plans for India, Zakir Hussain Rangwala, Director, BD Software Distribution, the Country Partner for Bitdefender in India, outlines how the company is poised to reap in the new year. Excerpts :

DT: - Please share the key highlights of the year 2016

A:- The 2016 was indeed very eventful for BD Software as we signed up with Bitdefender, a leading Internet security technology company protecting 500 million users worldwide.

BD Software launched Bitdefender’s consumer retail product line in India, offering such products as Bitdefender Internet Security 2016, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2016, Bitdefender Family Pack for up to 5 and 10 users,  Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac and Bitdefender Mobile Security for Android. 

In enterprise segment we have introduced Bitdefender’s revolutionary solutions under GravityZone brand developed for small and large business. The enterprise product line includes Bitdefender GravityZone Business Security ideal for Small Businesses, Bitdefender GravityZone Advanced Business Security for larger organizations and Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security for offices, datacenters and public cloud environments.

DT: - What makes partners and consumers loyal to your brand?

A:- PwC has recently ranked Bitdefender 17th largest emerging market software company in the world.  It is also a company known for its innovative approach to security.

Last year, Bitdefender was positioned as a Visionary in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms, a recognition that attests to the company’s success in the enterprise space, and the company continues to come up with innovative solutions for enterprise environments’ security.

DT: - Since GST has finally been passed, how will it affect you?

A:- GST has been passed, but we are yet to know the detailed roadmap for its implementation from the government. Therefore, it is difficult to analyze its impact on our daily business activities. However, this is undoubtedly a positive and a long-awaited move towards making India a better place to do business.

DT: - How does the channel help you to reach out to your potential customers? What’s your channel strength?

A:- BD Software has been blessed with a strong pool of reliable and very focused channel partners that not only help us promote Bitdefender’s solutions in India, but contribute to the brands’ strength and philohy.

We believe that our constant engagement with our channel partners helps us in building trust and credibility with end customers.

DT: - What do you provide after-sale-support?

A:- BD Software is a team of experienced people who have been working in the field of IT security for more than a decade. Our passion for IT security and innovations is probably the first thing that our partners and customers notice when dealing with us. Hence, the quality of support we provide is never in question.

DT: - What’s your roadmap or strategy for the year 2017?

A:- We are planning to increase our end-user reach by expanding our channel partner network, both in retail and enterprise segments.  We are planning to promote Bitdefender’s  GravityZone solutions for business more aggressively. We are definitely looking at more engagement with channel partners and system integrators specializing in cloud, virtualization and complex environments.
