The government should seek to lubricate communication, physical and electronic. Most societies that progressed fast and developed into sophisticated economic engines…all of them invested in enabling frictionless communication. The single biggest drain on national productivity is transport within cities. This must be addressed on a war-footing nationwide. It takes about 75 minutes to drive 5 km in Bangalore on many days; that’s a speed of 3-4 kmph. One can walk faster than that.
