“D-Link is Pushing the Boundaries of what the Network can Bring to Today’s Society”

D-Link has always maintained it’s leadership position in the Indian networking market with best and advanced solution for all set of customers. The company has already drafted it’s business goal and product strategy for year 2020 which will help them in growing further and grabbing new market opportunities. Tushar Sighat, Managing Director & CEO, D-Link (India) Ltd. shared his overall market strategy in an exclusive chat with DT. 

Q: What is the major approach from D-Link which makes it premium networking brand in all segment?

A: At D-Link we constantly observe market needs, technology trend and then provide cost-effective solutions to help customers build a highly efficient and reliable network. It is this approach that has led to D-Link being regarded as premium networking brand in the country. Since last couple of years our focus has been on nurturing organic growth. D-Link leads the networking segment with its end-to-end networking solution. Our unmanaged & smart managed switches are one of the most preferred in SMB segment and contributed significantly to our revenue. We are a trusted brand in WLAN segment with considerable market share. D-Link is also a prominent player in structured cabling segment. Further with our foray into CCTV segment we have diversified our product portfolio, and now we enjoy a considerable market share in this space. As we usher into the new year 2020, we look forward to working closely with our partner and SI community, continue with our underlying sprit of product innovation & leverage on the enormous opportunities that lies ahead.  

Q: What will be the key highlights of D-Link New products and innovations in year 2020?

A: In a world where everything and anything is now connected to the internet, D-Link is pushing the boundaries of what the network can bring to today’s society, moving beyond connectivity to making things smarter. D-Link has and will continue to bring innovation in networking. By utilizing technologies such as AI, Mesh, 5G, and Wi-Fi 6, D-Link’s latest solutions create a truly intelligent connection. For SMBs, D-Link continues to build innovative network solutions that meets all business networking needs, from switching to mobility and storage to surveillance, with complete solutions. To enhance business innovation, D-Link has developed new technology, such as the Nuclias Cloud Networking Solution. Overall D-Link is committed to expanding its innovation solution offerings and 2020 will see more advanced products coming out from the house of D-Link.

Q: How do you support government ambitious project ‘Make in India’?

A: After the acquisition of TeamF1 Networks in 2014, D-Link has integrated Team F1 expertise in developing software for its hardware, and is actively supporting the ‘Make in India’ movement. TeamF1 Networks is based out of Hyderabad with 140 + engineers and is a wholly owned subsidiary of D-Link India Ltd. TeamF1 Networks plays a vital role as our Global R&D center, providing software services to our HQ and working towards developing indigenous products for India.

Q: How do you see the importance of channel partners in reaching to customers across India?

A: Partners are an integral part of our business structure. They have been instrumental in enabling us to reach-out to customers pan India. D-Link has a strong network with a healthy mix of National distributor, Business distributor & Channel partner. At present D-Link has 4 National Distributors, 80+ Business Distributors, over 15000+ re-seller/ partners & 2000+ System Integrators catering to the networking needs of customers present across the length & breadth of the country. Our business strategies are centered on channel welfare & profitability. Empowering partners/ system integrators and helping them adapt to changing technology trend is crucial, and as a result we have taken the digital route. D-Link partner portal (partners.dlink.co.in) is one such business tool that helps make business easier for SI’s. D-Link stands committed to its partner and our strategies are devised keeping partner welfare in mind.
