The Zoho Corp founder Sridhar Vembu has changed his role from CEO to take on the position of Chief Scientist. Vembu took to social media platform X to announce this change in his role and informed about the company’s strategic decision to facilitate significant replacements in the top-level management saying, “A new chapter begins today. In view of the various challenges and opportunities facing us, including recent major developments in AI, it has been decided that it is best that I should focus full time on R&D initiatives, along with pursuing my personal rural development mission.”

In this new capacity, Vembu represents the visionary approach to leadership, where technological advancement leads and shapes Zoho’s future trajectory. He will be responsible for the initiatives taken in the field of innovative research and development, a crucial area for Zoho’s future growth and innovation. “I will step down as CEO of Zoho Corp and take a new role as Chief Scientist, responsible for deep R&D initiatives.”

Vembu expressed his enthusiasm for returning to hands-on technical work, emphasizing the importance of navigating the R&D challenges ahead with energy and determination. His decision underscores Zoho's strong commitment to technological advancement and innovation.

Zoho has announced key leadership changes including co-founder Shailesh Kumar Davey taking up the new role of Group CEO, overseeing the company’s operations. Also, co-founder Tony Thomas will lead the U.S. unit of Zoho, focusing on expanding the company's presence and operations in the region.

With this shift in roles, Rajesh Ganesan will now head the ManageEngine division, while Mani Vembu will oversee the Zoho.com division. Both leaders bring extensive experience and expertise, positioning the company for continued success.
