Bootstrapped SaaS major Zoho Corporation reported a strong revenue milestone in FY25, crossing the ₹12,000 crore mark even as profitability came under marginal pressure due to rising investments in artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, and global operational expansion.

According to filings with the Registrar of Companies accessed via Tofler, Zoho posted a consolidated revenue of ₹12,313 crore in FY25, reflecting a 17.8 percent year-on-year growth compared to ₹10,456 crore in FY24. The company continues to demonstrate consistent scale-up in its enterprise software business, having grown from ₹6,711 crore in FY22 to its current level.

However, net profit declined slightly to ₹3,191 crore in FY25 from ₹3,299 crore in the previous fiscal year, indicating increased cost absorption during a phase of aggressive technology and infrastructure investments across the SaaS ecosystem.

AI and Infrastructure Investments Drive Cost Expansion

Zoho’s total income, including other income, rose to ₹13,543 crore in FY25 from ₹11,193 crore in FY24, supported by a significant rise in other income, which increased to ₹1,231 crore from ₹737 crore.

At the same time, the company witnessed a sharp increase in expenditure, which climbed 30.5 percent year-on-year to ₹9,216 crore. This rise reflects sustained spending on scaling cloud infrastructure, product development, and expanding global operations as Zoho strengthens its position in the competitive SaaS market.

Depreciation and amortisation costs increased to ₹741 crore from ₹514 crore, highlighting continued capital investments in long-term infrastructure and technology assets. Other expenses, which include marketing, legal, and operational costs, rose to ₹4,114 crore from ₹3,169 crore, signaling broader expansion efforts across geographies and business functions.

Profit before tax stood at ₹4,327 crore, while tax outgo increased to ₹1,112 crore compared to ₹819 crore in FY24, reflecting higher earnings and statutory obligations.

Strong Cash Position Reinforces Financial Stability

Despite rising cost pressures, Zoho strengthened its balance sheet position during FY25. The company’s cash and cash equivalents rose significantly to ₹1,878 crore at the end of the fiscal year, compared with ₹710 crore in FY24. The increase underscores improved liquidity and strong internal accrual generation.

SaaS Industry Navigates a Cost and AI Transition Phase

Zoho’s financial performance comes at a time when the global SaaS industry is undergoing a major transition. Enterprise software companies are significantly increasing investments in AI-driven capabilities, automation tools, and scalable cloud infrastructure, while also navigating uneven global enterprise spending patterns.

Within this environment, Zoho’s ability to sustain double-digit revenue growth while maintaining near-stable profitability highlights the resilience of its bootstrapped operating model. The company’s long-term strategy continues to focus on organic growth, product diversification, and deeper enterprise adoption across global markets.

As AI adoption accelerates across industries, Zoho’s FY25 performance reflects both the opportunities and cost pressures shaping the next phase of SaaS evolution.
