Realme has recorded impressive sales in the third quarter of 2023. Consequently, the brand has jumped from the number 3 position in Q2 2023 to now securing the second spot among the top 10 smartphone brands in India as per IDC's rankings for Q3 2023 with a market share of 15.1%.
This is a significant jump from the 14.2% market share held by the brand in Q3 2022. Despite the overall smartphone market in India remaining static in Q3 2023, realme's strategic positioning with the introduction of captivating new models (realme C53 and realme 11 Series 5G) and alluring festive deals propelled the brand to reclaim the coveted 2nd position in the Indian smartphone market.
realme's remarkable growth stems from a blend of factors: its strategy in managing inventory and demand, aggressive sales promotions, and the introduction of innovative 5G devices. This year, realme has achieved numerous milestones across a range of devices, with several emerging as bestsellers in their respective categories.
According to Counterpoint, realme achieved notable success in the Indian smartphone market. In Q3-23, the brand ranked second on both Flipkart and Amazon within the price band, driven by realme narzo 60x 5G and realme narzo N53 models. The realme C53 claimed the first position in the below INR 20K price segment shipments in September 2023.
Furthermore, realme also secured the third spot among online smartphone brands in the INR 20K - INR 30K price range during the same month, propelled by the realme 11 Pro Series 5G. Additionally, the realme narzo N53 that broke records by selling 100,000 units in an impressive 90 minutes also captured the top spot on Amazon in Q3-23.
