Meta has launched Meta One, a new subscription service that brings premium features, expanded AI capabilities and professional tools across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI.
Rolling out globally, including India, Meta One is designed for individual users, AI power users, creators and businesses looking for additional capabilities beyond Meta’s standard free services. Meta says more than 50 features are being introduced through the subscription ecosystem, while the core experience across its apps and Meta AI will continue to remain free.
In India, standalone subscriptions start from Rs 79 per month, while bundled and professional plans are available at higher price points.
Here are 10 key features and pricing details users should know before subscribing.
1. Instagram Plus Starts at Rs 99
Instagram Plus brings additional customisation and interaction features to the platform. Subscribers can access options such as custom fonts for DMs and Stories, DM previews and notifications related to certain Story viewers. The plan is aimed at users looking for more control over how they interact and express themselves on Instagram.
2. WhatsApp Plus Starts at Rs 79
WhatsApp Plus introduces additional personalisation features, including exclusive themes and icons, special-effect stickers and the ability to pin more chats. Meta also plans to test additional capabilities such as storage for chat and media backups and Focus Schedules, which could give users greater control over notifications and conversations.
3. Facebook Plus Costs Rs 99
Facebook Plus adds additional customisation features to the social networking platform. These include options such as custom app icons and Super Hearts, alongside other personalisation capabilities designed to provide subscribers with a more customised Facebook experience.
4. Higher AI Usage Limits
One of the central components of Meta One is expanded access to Meta AI. Core and Premium subscribers receive additional usage allowances for some of Meta’s more compute-intensive AI capabilities. This is particularly relevant for users who frequently generate or edit images and other AI-powered content. Meta continues to offer everyday Meta AI access for free, while subscriptions are positioned around higher usage and specialised capabilities.
5. More AI Video Generation
Meta One also expands access to AI-powered video generation. Subscribers can create more videos using Meta AI, with Meta’s Muse models powering the company's newer AI media-generation capabilities. The feature reflects Meta’s broader push to integrate generative AI directly into its social platforms and creative workflows.
6. More Instagram Restyle Usage
Meta’s AI-powered Restyle feature on Instagram allows users to modify and transform Stories using AI. Meta One subscribers receive increased access to this capability, giving frequent users more opportunities to experiment with AI-powered visual effects and creative transformations.
7. Meta One Core Starts at Rs 549
For users who want features across multiple Meta platforms, Meta One Core costs Rs 549 per month in India. The bundle combines Instagram Plus, WhatsApp Plus and Facebook Plus features while also providing expanded AI usage. It is positioned as an option for users who regularly use multiple Meta services and want additional AI creation capabilities under one subscription.
8. Meta One Premium Costs Rs 1,950
Meta One Premium is aimed at users requiring higher levels of AI access and creative capabilities.
Priced at Rs 1,950 per month in India, the plan includes the features available through Core while increasing access to Meta AI and its creative tools.
The higher tier is therefore focused more heavily on users who frequently use AI-powered image and video generation.
9. Creator and Business Plans Start at Rs 639
Meta is also targeting creators and businesses through dedicated subscription packages. The Essential plan starts at Rs 639 per month and includes professional capabilities such as an enhanced profile, a verified badge, impersonation protection and increased access to Meta Business Agent on WhatsApp.
These features are aimed at users who use Meta platforms not only for communication but also for building audiences, managing customer relationships and growing their businesses.
10. Advanced Plans Add Professional Tools
Higher creator and business tiers add capabilities designed for more intensive professional use. The Advanced plan starts at Rs 2,099 per month and includes features such as scheduled Stories for up to 30 days, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, deeper audience insights, additional linked devices and business broadcast credits on WhatsApp.
Meta also offers higher Expert and Max plans starting at Rs 6,399 and Rs 20,990 per month respectively, with pricing and feature availability varying according to region, account and product.
Meta Keeps Core Services Free
The launch of Meta One does not mean users have to pay to continue using Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp or Meta AI. Meta has explicitly stated that the core experience across its apps and Meta AI will remain free. The subscription is instead designed around specialised features, higher AI usage and professional capabilities for users who need more than the standard experience.
The company has already recorded 15 million subscriptions and trials during its phased rollout and says more than 50 subscriber features have been introduced. Meta also plans to extend the subscription ecosystem to products such as Edits and its AI-powered glasses. For Indian users, the key question will ultimately depend on usage. While individual app subscriptions provide relatively low-cost access to additional features, the bundled Core, Premium and professional plans are aimed at increasingly intensive AI, creator and business requirements.
With Meta One, Meta is effectively bringing its subscription strategy for social platforms and AI under one umbrella, while making advanced AI usage and specialised digital tools a larger part of its paid ecosystem.
