CTO Dhiraj Saxena Resigns From Poonawalla Fincorp Over Alleged Harassment By CHRO
Poonawalla Fincorp CTO Dhiraj Saxena stepped down from his role over alleged harassment by the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO). Saxena submitted his resignation letter to the leadership on September 6th, effective December 3rd.
In his letter to the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Saxena wrote, โI hereby resign from the post of Chief Technology Officer due to harassment & unnecessary interventions of CHRO which is impacting me in managing the IT function effectively and efficiently. This is creating major unrest in the team there by impacting the IT delivery. I have tried my best to collaborate, but it seems it is not the intention of the other side.โ
Following its acquisition by Adar Poonawalla's Rising Sun Holdings in May 2021, Magma Fincorp transformed, adopting the name Poonawalla Fincorp in July of the same year. The rebranding marked a key shift, aiming to establish the company as a major player in the non-banking financial sector, with a focus on offering a wide range of financial solutions for consumers and MSMEs.
With the companyโs high-profile resignation, a question about conflict resolution and workplace culture in Poonavalla Fincorp has been raised. At the end of his resignation letter, Saxena requested to process the release as per HR policies and wished good luck to the company. However, the senior-level resignation under such circumstances is indicating a deeper organizational issue.
