COMPUTEX 2024 Wraps Up Successfully, Attracts Over 80,000 Visitors

COMPUTEX 2024, one of the world’s most prominent technology events, is renowned for showcasing cutting-edge innovations and advancements in the tech industry. This year’s trade show concluded successfully, attracting a record-breaking 85,179 ICT professionals and buyers. The event drew significant attendance from countries including the United States, Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, India, and Indonesia.

The 2024 theme, "Connecting AI," highlighted the increasing importance of artificial intelligence in the tech landscape. The global B2B professional exhibition effectively attracted top-tier buyers from around the world, reinforcing COMPUTEX's status as a premier event in the technology sector.

Innovation Showcase 

The exhibitors presented the latest product applications from almost every field including AI computing & System Solutions. Here, Acer and ASUS unveiled their first Copilot+ PCs—Swift 14 AI laptop and Vivobook S 15 respectively, highlighting AI technology’s transformative impact on the PC industry. This year, the newly introduced smart mobility exhibition area featured numerous automobile-related displays. The Taiwan Advanced Technology Automotive Development Association (TADA) brought together major manufacturers like Clientron, Pegatron Corporation, and Retronix Technology to create an automotive technology concept pavilion, featuring extensive smart cockpit solutions.

In the field of telecommunications and networking, ASUS and ASKEY collaborated to develop 5G enterprise private network solutions and services using Microsoft Azure's devoted 5G core. Pride introduced the industry's first cross-protocol energy smart management system, the "AIoT Application Management Platform (NMS-AIoT)." Ganzin Technology showcased wearable eye-tracking technology, and Aemass represented a single-lens 3D portable recording system as well as AI algorithm and 3D cloud imaging technologies and so on. 

Experts Insights

The COMPUTEX 2024 was inaugurated by Chairman & CEO of AMD, Dr. Lisa Su and other distinguished speakers included Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger, Qualcomm President & CEO Cristiano Amon, MediaTek Vice-Chairman & CEO Rick Tsai, NXP Semiconductors Executive VP & CTO Lars Reger, Supermicro President & CEO Charles Liang, and Delta Research Center President Dr. Tzi-cker Chiueh.

The discussion point of the forum this year was "Let’s Talk Generative AI." A total of nine tech experts took part in the discussion and threw light upon AI supply chain, and exploring business opportunities. 

Global Participation

In this year’s InnoVEX, the startup exhibition area at COMPUTEX witnessed the record no. of participating countries ever. Startups displayed exceptional creativity, using AI technology in numerous fields such as healthcare, sports, pets, manufacturing, and tourism. 

Award Distribution

InnoVEX also provided a competitive platform for global startup teams. This year, the first prize in the InnoVEX startup competition was awarded to Taiwan Polymer Material Company for their "R-ESG-Rubber," which transforms waste tires into high-activity, high-value recycled rubber materials, setting the example of effective recycling.

COMPUTEX introduced the Sustainable Design Award. BenQ Qisda Group got the gold award, while ASUS and Acer jointly secured the silver award. Wiwynn Corporation and Transcend Information were rewarded with the special jury award. Exhibitors embraced the 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) in their designs and activities, smoothly integrating sustainability and advocating green transformation.

Hospitality and Culture 

The COMPUTEX became a great example of Taiwan’s hospitality initiatives, such as hospitality lounges offering traditional Taiwanese refreshments and co-branded products that highlight its local charm. 

COMPUTEX in 2025

Next year, COMPUTEX 2025 will be held from the 20th-23rd of May, to keep the technology ecosystem expanding with the technical manufacturer from around the world.

The technology trade show was incepted in 1981, and ever since it has evolved into a global platform for major technology companies, startups, and industry professionals to showcase their latest innovations, and collaborations, with a focus on emerging trends.
