The 30th Convergence India and 8th Smart Cities Expo, India's largest tech & infra expos jointly organised by the Smart Cities Mission, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA), India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), and Exhibitions India Group (EIG) concluded successfully today with a closing ceremony of Smart Cities India Awards & FinTech India Innovation Awards.

Living up to this year’s theme of ‘Innovation driving Sustainability’ representatives from key ministries spoke of ongoing ‘Digital India’ programmes, spokespersons of big Indian and global brands deliberated on future plans and new-age startups showcased solutions for transforming India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge-based economy.

Key dignitaries included Pradeep Singh Kharola, Chairman and Managing Director ITPO and Ministry of Commerce & Industry, H.E. Karel Hirman, Minister of Economy Slovak Republic, V. Raghuandan, Secretary TRAI, LT Gen DR. SP Kochhar and Arvind Bali, CEO, Telecom Sector Skill Council to name a few.

Over 200 speakers participated in 42 high-powered conference sessions. The show brought together startup founders, startup enthusiasts, public and private players across industries and geographies, under one roof. The expo - curated for innovators, disruptors and industry leaders who shared their projects, knowledge, passion and insights – was a great platform for networking and a meeting point for business opportunities.

Ms. Chandrika Behl, Managing Director, Exhibitions India Group, said, "Convergence India, in its milestone 30th year, and Smart Cities India, in its 8th year, continue their legacy of being platforms that have fostered growth and accelerated nation-building through opportunities in fast-growing digital technologies. Both the events have provided a platform for domestic brands to showcase their work in technology, smart cities, and start-up domains. The expos also offered a platform for international players to forge new partnerships and explore business opportunities in India. It was a pleasure to host industry stalwarts from tech telecom, start-ups and smart cities space at the 30th Convergence and 8th Smart cities expo.”
