After a long 13-year affiliation with the food delivery firm Zomato, Akriti Chopra, the Chief People Officer (CPO) and Co-founder, has stepped down from her role with immediate effect. The firm reported her exit on 27th September, through a mail sent to the stock exchange.
"Deepi, As discussed, formally sending in my resignation effective today, September 27, 2024. It's been an incredibly enriching journey over the past 13 years. Thank you for everything. I'm always a call away. Wishing you and Eternal, the very best," said Chopra in her parting mail to the stock exchange.
Chopra is married to Albinder Dhindsa, the CEO of Blinkit, and plays an important role at the Gurugram-based firm. Holding a strong commerce background, Chopra graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and completed her Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Before her association with Zomato, she worked with PwC, after that her inspiring journey with the food delivery firm began as CFO, and now, after 13 years, Chopra is resigning from her role as one of Zomatoโs co-founders.
Chopra is the next string of co-founders who left Zomato in the past two years, following the exits of x-CTO Gunjan Patidar, Pankaj Chaddah, Mohit Gupta, and Gaurav Gupta. Chaddah departed in 2018, while Gaurav Gupta stepped down in 2021. Also, the former Food Delivery Chief (FDC) Rahul Ganjoo and Intercity Legends Service Head Siddharth Jhawar resigned around the same time. Within the past two years, Chopra has become Zomatoโs 5th co-founder to step down from the role. Among them, Rahul Ganjoo and Pradyot Ghate were brought back by the company, as reported by Money Control.
