Project Management Institute has released its Global Project Management Talent Gap report. According to the new report, South Asia will need to add up to 8.5 million new project professionals by 2035 to meet growing demand and sustain economic growth. Regionally to meet the 2035 demand, South Asia needs to add up to 4.4 million more project professionals in the next 10 years.
The report highlights that South Asia, including India, is projected to experience the second highest demand growth for project professionals globally up to 91% by 2035. Driven by rapid infrastructure expansion, digital transformation, and industrial development, the demand for skilled project professionals in the region is set to rise dramatically.
The report further projects that the global project management workforce will grow from 40 million professionals in 2025 to up to 65.4 million by 2035. This surge in demand highlights the growing strategic importance of project professionals in driving business success, transformation, and economic development across industries worldwide.
