Qualcomm Technologies announced a strategic collaboration with the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) to support India’s national research agenda. The collaboration will strengthen India’s research infrastructure to enhance the nation’s research capabilities in science, engineering, and next-gen technologies.

Under this strategic collaboration, Qualcomm Technologies will contribute up to ₹90 crore over the next five years to support ANRF’s mission-driven research programs. These programs will be jointly identified and selected through ANRF's established evaluation and governance frameworks in priority technology areas including AI systems, advance wireless technologies and next-generation computing.

Established as a statutory body under an Act of Parliament, ANRF serves as India’s apex institution for funding, coordinating, and advancing research and innovation across all scientific disciplines. Through its Mission for Advancement in High-impact Areas (MAHA) framework, ANRF supports mission-driven programs with the mandate to provide strategic direction for research that is in line with national priorities. This collaboration with Qualcomm aligns with ANRF's mandate to strengthen India's research ecosystem and position India as a global hub for advanced research, deep-tech innovation, and next-generation technologies.

By supporting high-impact programs identified through ANRF’s frameworks, the collaboration aims to drive measurable research outcomes and scalable innovation in areas critical to India’s long-term technological leadership through engagement between researchers, institutions and technology experts.

Dr. Durga Malladi, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Technology Planning, Edge Solutions & Data Center Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., said, “At Qualcomm, we believe sustained investment in research is fundamental to building long-term innovation leadership. Our collaboration with ANRF reinforces our commitment to India’s research ecosystem, supporting mission-driven programs that translate cutting-edge science into real-world impact. Together, we aim to empower researchers, accelerate next-generation technologies, and contribute meaningfully to India’s journey as a global innovation hub.”

Savi Soin, President, Qualcomm India, said, “India has the talent, scale, and ambition to lead the next wave of global technological innovation. This partnership with ANRF is about strengthening the foundations, investing in people, institutions, and research platforms that will pave the path for India’s accelerated growth in the next decade. We are proud to deepen our long-term commitment to India’s research and innovation ecosystem.”

The collaboration will focus on enabling breakthrough innovation in areas such as Edge AI, advanced wireless technologies, intelligent autonomous systems, and next-generation computing--helping India move from technology adoption to technology leadership.
