MobiKwik announced the elevation of Dhruv Wadhera to Chief Business Officer (CBO) – Offline Merchant Payments, together with key leadership promotions across the Business and Governance functions, reflecting MobiKwik’s focus on strengthening its leadership bench.
Following a strong FY26, these appointments reflect MobiKwik’s focus on strengthening execution, scaling its merchant businesses, deepening governance capabilities, and driving its next phase of growth.
Dhruv Wadhera, who brings over two decades of entrepreneurial and strategic leadership experience, has led MobiKwik's offline merchant (payments) business since 2023. Under his leadership, the business has delivered strong growth in GMV and revenues, expanded product lines including QR, Soundbox and EDC devices, and unlocked new revenue streams.
As Chief Business Officer, Offline Merchant Payments, Dhruv will lead the next phase of offline merchant expansion strategy across four core segments that include Organised Retail, Oil&Gas, General Trade (small businesses) and Devices. He will further deepen focus on merchant acquiring products, operational excellence, merchant retention and improved device economics, in line with the company’s broader push to break-even by FY28 backed by 5x scale-up of devices. Prior to MobiKwik, Dhruv served as Vice President and Sales Director at Zomato.
MobiKwik has also announced the following leadership promotions:
Abhishek Mukherji, has been promoted to the role of Senior Vice President – Bharat Connect (Recharges & Bill Payments) & Online Merchant Payments. Over the years, he has successfully steered the Recharge & Bill Payments business through evolving market dynamics, driving strategic transformation and delivering sustained growth.
In his expanded role, Abhishek will also spearhead Zaakpay, MobiKwik’s payment gateway business, with the mandate to accelerate the company’s Online Merchant Payments business and achieve its target of scaling the business 10x by FY28.
A payments industry veteran with over 24 years of experience, Abhishek has previously held leadership positions at PayU and Airtel Payments Bank.
Saurabh Taneja has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Governance, with responsibility for Regulatory Compliance, Company Secretarial and Legal Affairs. Saurabh has played a pivotal role in strengthening MobiKwik’s governance framework, securing key regulatory approvals and licenses, and enabling expansion into new business areas and revenue streams.
Going forward, he will focus on institutionalising governance processes, enhancing risk and compliance frameworks, and building a strong foundation for sustainable, long-term growth while maintaining the trust of regulators, customers, partners and investors. Saurabh is a seasoned legal professional with 18+ years of experience in corporate and regulatory affairs, having worked with companies like Headout, Zomato and MakeMyTrip.
