Finally, the wait is over. The rumour that Elon Musk has pre-decided the new Twitter CEO come true. NBCU leader Ms. Linda Yaccarino is the official new Chief Executive Officer and the same has been announced by Twitter supremo Elon Musk via a tweet saying “I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!”
Who is Linda Yaccarino?
Linda is working with NBCUniversal for over a decade, advocating better ways to improve advertising effectiveness. She was heading NBCU’s advertising sales. Other than that, Yaccarino has served Turner Entertainment for 19 years and she is the one to hold the credit for digitizing ad sales operations for a better future of the network. She studied telecommunications and liberal arts at Penn State University.
Last month, at an advertising event held in Miami, Yaccarino interviewed Elon Musk and encouraged audiences to round applause for his work. Yaccarino is leaving NBCU and it will be a shocker for the company as their CEO Jeff Shell already left due to a complaint filed against him for having an improper relationship with a female employee.
Challenges Before New Twitter CEO
After taking over the new role, Linda has to deal with a heavy debt and other challenges the social media platform is dealing with.
Elon Musk within just six months of taking over Twitter is facing several challenges and to tackle the loss the firm opted for laying off thousands of employees and made several other advancements still it has become difficult to recover the heavy amount that Musk invested to reserve right on the site.
With the new appointment, the Twitter owner has high hopes for Linda Yaccarino for the betterment of the social media website. He expressed his excitement through his announcement as: “I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter! @LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology. Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app.”
