HMD India announced the availability of PhonePe UPI 123Pay across an expanded portfolio of HMD and Nokia feature phones, making digital payments more accessible to consumers who continue to rely on feature phones in their everyday lives.
The PhonePe app is now available on HMD 105 2G, HMD 110 2G, Nokia 105 Classic, Nokia 105 Single SIM, Nokia 105 Dual SIM, Nokia 106 and Nokia 123 Shield, giving HMD and Nokia feature phone users access to essential UPI services. HMD currently offers the widest range of feature phones enabled with the PhonePe app, and both companies are actively working to bring PhonePe UPI 123Pay to additional device models.
On supported devices, users can send and receive money using a mobile number or UPI ID. On camera-equipped devices, they can also scan and pay using QR codes. Users can also check their bank balance and view transaction history, do mobile recharges thus bringing the key features of digital payments to feature phones.
For millions of consumers in India, a feature phone remains a trusted part of everyday life. It is simple, reliable and familiar, and for many, it continues to be the phone they prefer to use. By bringing UPI to these devices, HMD is helping consumers access the convenience of digital payments without having to switch to a smartphone.
