Capgemini has appointed Sayan Guha as Director – Global AI & Data Science Practice, strengthening its leadership capabilities across artificial intelligence, data science and enterprise technology. Guha brings more than two decades of experience spanning AI, analytics, data architecture, cloud, generative AI and enterprise transformation.
In his new role, Guha will contribute to Capgemini’s global AI and data science practice, bringing together his experience in building data-driven technology solutions and helping enterprises navigate the shift toward AI-led business transformation.
Two Decades Across Data, AI and Enterprise Technology
Guha’s career spans more than 20 years across major technology and IT services organisations, including Tech Mahindra, IBM, Wipro and Cognizant. His professional journey has evolved alongside the technology industry, moving from traditional data and analytics environments toward cloud platforms, advanced AI, deep learning and generative AI.
His experience covers multiple dimensions of enterprise technology, including data architecture, AI and analytics, cloud data solutions and emerging AI technologies. This combination gives him exposure to both the underlying technology required to build AI capabilities and the business requirements that drive enterprise adoption.
Earlier in his career, Guha was associated with Tech Mahindra, formerly Mahindra Satyam, before taking on roles across IBM, Wipro and Cognizant. These experiences helped him develop expertise across different technology environments and work on data and analytics-led transformation initiatives.
Expanding Focus on Enterprise AI
Guha’s appointment comes at a time when enterprises are moving beyond early AI experimentation and increasingly looking at how artificial intelligence can be integrated into core business processes.
Organisations are investing in AI to improve decision-making, automate operations, enhance customer experiences and create new digital products and services. However, successful AI adoption increasingly depends on the quality of underlying data, architecture, cloud infrastructure and governance.
This is creating demand for leaders who understand the complete technology landscape rather than AI as an isolated capability. Guha’s experience across data, cloud, analytics and AI aligns with this broader requirement.
Bringing AI and Data Expertise to Capgemini
As Director – Global AI & Data Science Practice, Guha will bring his cross-functional expertise into Capgemini’s wider AI agenda. His background in data architecture and analytics, combined with experience in generative AI, deep learning and cloud data solutions, adds depth to the company’s capabilities as customers accelerate their AI transformation initiatives.
The role also reflects the increasing convergence of data and AI within enterprise technology strategies. As businesses deploy more AI applications, access to reliable data and scalable technology infrastructure has become critical to achieving meaningful outcomes.
A Strategic Leadership Addition
Guha’s move to Capgemini marks another step in a career that has progressed through several phases of enterprise technology. His experience across established IT services and technology companies has provided exposure to changing technology models and evolving enterprise requirements.
With organisations now placing greater emphasis on AI-led transformation, Capgemini’s global AI and data science practice will play an increasingly important role in helping customers translate emerging technologies into practical business applications.
Guha’s appointment therefore adds a combination of technical depth, enterprise technology experience and AI expertise to Capgemini’s global practice, strengthening its focus on helping organisations build data-driven and AI-enabled businesses at scale.
