Known for its thriving startup culture, IIT Delhi has produced iconic companies like Zomato, PolicyBazaar, and Flipkart, establishing itself as a global leader in nurturing entrepreneurial talent. Among its peer institutions, IIT Delhi stands out as a startup factory, with the highest number of successful startups worldwide.
This month, IIT Delhi celebrated the 25th anniversary of its 1999 batch, marking a significant milestone with initiatives like the Founder’s Club and IITD Angels.
The IITD Angels is an exclusive group of angel investors from the IIT Delhi alumni network, designed to support and mentor IIT alumni founders. The goal is to foster more successful startups and create a new generation of entrepreneurial leaders in the global market.
The event's inauguration and pitch session were graced by industry stalwarts, including Amit Jain, CEO of CarDekho and a prominent investor, and Harneet Singh, the visionary founder of Rabbitt.AI.
Amit Jain, widely recognized as a prominent shark on Shark Tank India, is also celebrated for his strategic support of startups across diverse sectors. Through his Girnar Vision Fund (GVF), he fosters innovation and nurtures talent, empowering emerging industries to thrive and succeed.
Harneet Singh, Popularly known as "The Lion Founder" among the AI community, chosen as Top 100 AI Leaders and served as an AI Consultant with the South Korean Navy. Other distinguished guests included Alok Mittal, Founder of Indifi Technologies; Sanjeev Goyal, Founder of Account360.ai;
and Pryiank Garg, Managing Partner at IAN Alpha Fund,Pradeep Gupta,Chairman,Cyber Media Group. These industry experts, along with a diverse group of angel investors, came together to support the next wave of IIT Delhi entrepreneurs.
The event was further elevated by the presence of IIT Delhi Alumni Association President and esteemed members, highlighting the strong commitment to nurturing the startup ecosystem. The day concluded with a memorable Pro Night, featuring a performance by renowned singer Shaan, adding a celebratory touch to this groundbreaking initiative aimed at accelerating the growth of startups and fostering innovation.
