Since 1992, Convergence India has heralded the technology and telecom revolution in India. Celebrating 30 glorious years of fostering partnerships between India and the world, the expo is at the forefront of India’s digital revolution by emerging as the hub for future technologies, innovation, and everything that is ‘Smart & Sustainable.’
This year’s theme of Convergence India is “Innovation Driving Sustainability.” Co-organized by the Exhibitions India Group (EIG), India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), and the Smart Cities Mission under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA), the 30th Convergence India along with the 8th Smart Cities India expo, is scheduled to be held at the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from 27-29 March 2023.
The 2023 edition will bring together the latest technology innovations and trends in the fields of telecom, satcom, broadcast, wired/wireless technologies, 5G & 6G networks, IT solutions such as Cloud, Big Data & Analytics, AI, smart homes, smart solutions, security & surveillance, M2M, Mobiles & Accessories, IoT, Embedded tech, Blockchain, FinTech, and Digital Gaming. Over the years, technological advancements have changed the manufacturing landscape and the market conditions across these industries.
Exhibitions India Group (EIG) was established in 1987 as a premier trade promotion organization. Through its series of expos, EIG has been leading the digital revolution by serving as a bridge between the government, industry, media and academia, among others. The organization promotes trade, fosters investments, and facilitates joint ventures and technology transfers by providing networking opportunities through international business-to-business exhibitions and conferences. Convergence India was one of the first international events launched by the company in 1992. At that time, the Information & Communication Technology, ITeS, IoT, and telecom sectors in the country were still in a nascent stage.
Over the years, Exhibitions India has introduced other world-class expos. The Smart Cities India expo was launched alongside the Government of India’s landmark Smart Cities Mission (SCM) in 2015 to help fulfill the vision of creating sustainable and modern cities in India. Both Convergence India and Smart Cities India have emerged as the leading platforms for all the target industries.
Today, the Smart Cities India expo is a leading platform for the technologies and solutions that are revolutionizing India’s urban landscape. The expo was the first such event launched with the vision to fulfill the targets of the Smart Cities Mission and other missions associated with it. Over the years, the expo has evolved to encompass all aspects of urban development, i.e., Green buildings, clean energy, environmental solutions, water & sanitation, clean fuel, urban mobility, etc., to create a smart and sustainable ecosystem in our cities.
Both the expos have provided a launchpad for many domestic companies, including start-ups, some of which have consolidated their position in the industry to emerge as Unicorns, global players, and influencers.
The 2023 edition of the 30th Convergence India and 8th Smart Cities India expos is bigger and better than before, with over 1,000 participants from 40 countries, including over 200 start-ups from across the nation, congregating on a common platform to exchange ideas and deliberate on the future of the industry. A series of conferences will be organized alongside the three-day event, where about 100 senior speakers from the government and industry will share experiences and provide inputs on the challenges faced by various sectors. Over 40,000 visitors will get a chance to interact, explore and make alliances in one of the fastest-growing markets in the world.
