SIA-India Signed MOU with Lovely Professional University

SIA-India signed an MOU with Lovely Professional University (LPU). The MoU formalizes a framework of cooperation and facilitates collaboration between the two bodies in fulfilling the objective to train and guide prospective entrepreneurs on product knowledge, technical skills, sales skills, and service skills for various products and services in the space sector.

SIA-India supports LPU in this endeavour towards becoming a model university.

SIA-India and LPU will organize joint workshops, seminars and training courses to stimulate and assist in the development of an efficient and sustainable Industry. This collaboration is expected to make way for cooperation and exchange of information, for students/experts, or other resource persons by the parties for academic, research, training, and allied purposes in the satellite and space sector.

“The MoU will serve as a good starting point for generating synergies in areas of skill development, research in space technologies, the dissemination and advocacy of knowledge, and upgradation of Centre for Space Research and Operations at LPU” said Dr. Subba Rao Pavuluri, President SIA-India.

The MOU was signed by Mr. Anil Prakash, Director General, SIA-India and Prof. Monica Gulati, Executive Dean and Registrar at Lovely Professional University.

The signing of the MOU was witnessed by senior officials from SIA India and LPU.  Dr. Subba Rao Pavuluri (President SIA-India & CMD Ananth Technologies Ltd.) graced the occasion with his presence. Prof. Lovi Raj Gupta (Pro Vice Chancellor, LPU) also present to witness the signing said “The role of academic institutions is very crucial in creating skilled manpower and the development of space infrastructure in India and Lovely Professional University is thriving to become a nodal center and role model for space missions and research”.  He appreciated the pledge proposed by Dr. Subba Rao Pavuluri and Mr. Anil Prakash regarding escalating and sensitizing the space related research in the universities.

The association has pledged to assist and guide LPU to realize its ambition to launch a satellite within a year. The satellite would be designed toward facilitating edutech and other related activities.

Speaking at the virtual event Mr. Anil Prakash, Director General, SIA-India said “The MoU will support the sharing of knowledge and best practices from SIA-India members to further invigorate the Space related activities at LPU”

The collaboration, like this, will go a very long way in strengthening the academic outreach and capacity-building ecosystem to bridge the gaps.  This is a starting point for such collaborations in the space sector in India and will encourage more such collaborations between the private sector and Academia, which is the need of the hour.
