Zakir Hussain, Director, BD Soft, Country Partner of Bitdefender, discloses his key channel and product plan with DT for this New Year.  

DT: How has been the year 2018 for you? 

Mr. Zakir: 2018 was a good year for us in terms of overall growth. We grew in terms of business and added lot of users across the country. There was growth in consumer business as well as corporate customers. This year has very much significant as we are able to boost our channel reach as well. We added more partners in the areas where we were not present.  Now our partner base has increased very much. With all positive and great outcome of all strategies, we will be closing the year 2018 on a high.

DT: Please brief about your channel ecosystem in India. How are you currently working with your partners to strengthen your market position? 

Mr. Zakir: We have segmented our channel partners into two different segments. One who promote retail and consumer versions and SI & VAR who promote our solutions in SMB and corporates. We make all efforts to train all our partenrs on our solutions and also help them with POC and demonstration at their customer premises. Our partner base is increasing as we need to reach more customers across all verticals. We are selecting partners based on their profile and our own requirement with whom we can work with our solutions.

DT: What is your overall roadmap to escalate your growth further in CY 2019? On what products you will be focusing in 2019? 

Mr. Zakir: We have added EDR and also DLP and MDM solutions. Our focus area will be on targeting this solutions towards SMB and corporates. We have observed that there is growing demand in the market and we with our solutions partners are approaching corporates with the same. Our consumer versions are also doing extremely well now as this solution have got good features and have been appreciated by the users as well by partners. We will continue to focus and grow our consumer market share too in the coming year.

DT: What will be the major challenges for Distribution houses in 2019?

Mr. Zakir: The main challenge for any distribution house is going to boost its reach. As digitalisation and computerisation grows, market is also growing which brings large opportunities. To be able to reach this market is what the challenge is about. Secondly, getting the partners and their staff trained is the next part.  We believe and know our solutions are the best in the markets and we are confident that once we connect with a partner, we will be able to find out which of his customers will require our solutions.

DT: How do you see the release of ‘GravityZone Ultra Suite’, a complete Endpoint Security solution for large enterprise in India?

Mr. Zakir: Cybersecurity is something that every business needs to take seriously. With record numbers of attacks affecting businesses of all sizes, it is important that every company is aware of the dangers posed and is putting in the resources necessary to keep themselves secure. This goes crucial for SME’s, Enterprises who are the most vulnerable. With the newest Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra Suite we aim to build one aspect of defence, prepping the initial outlay for long term protection. GravityZone Ultra is available with the cloud console. It protects desktops, laptops, servers (physical and virtual) and mailboxes. Servers should account for less than 35% of all units. The product is available with leading Retail and Online Stores in India.
